Dr. Hiatt's Secret File

Dr. Evelyn Hiatt keeps a secret box, for her eyes only, under her desk. "It is full of cards and emails from former students," she explains. Many stay in touch, keep her posted on their successes and say "thank you" to their professor. She measures her success by their accomplishments. "I get to watch them grow and become young scientists. What a privilege to mentor them and help them find their own individual paths." Hiatt shares with pride that Wesleyan science students are consistently accepted to their graduate and professional programs of choice in prestigious institutions nationwide.
