Karma Has You: a short film

You are invited to attend Northwest China Council's first in-person event since the end of 2019, Ran Sheng will screen his short film, Karma Has You, at the beautifully renovated (in 2015) Arlene and Harold Schnitzer Center for Art and Design at the Pacific Northwest College of Art. After the screening will be a discussion.

The in-person event is for NWCC members only. All are welcome to attend the event via Zoom webinar. Please register below accordingly.

Ran Sheng (盛然) was born and raised in Beijing, China. Before coming to Portland in 2015, he was working in a number of different industries including graphic design, video, animation, photography, etc. Those jobs helped him to accumulate rich experience in multiple areas, and also developed his passion for stop-motion animation. In 2018, Sheng graduated from Pacific Northwest College of Art with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. His thesis film Karma Has You won the William H. Givler Thesis Award. Currently, Sheng lives in Portland, focuses on stop-motion and hybrid animation, works with both physical and digital puppets, and continues to explore the endless possibilities of animated arts.
