In January, our friends at God's Garage gifted a donated car to a Montgomery County Women's Center client! She is a single mom who had experienced abuse in a previous relationship. She has struggled with housing, basic essentials, and a reliable vehicle. The Friday's Men's Fellowship Group at Woodlands United Methodist Church funded the vehicle repairs, provided some labor, and cleaned the vehicle before it was gifted. We are so incredibly grateful to everyone who had a hand in this vehicle gifting, including the donor of this car and the incredible folks with Woodlands United Methodist Church for helping get this car road ready. We appreciate you all! Our client shared with us that this vehicle will be a stepping stone for her to continue to care for her son and relieve the stress of not having reliable transportation.

Montgomery County Community Foundation is honored to partner with Montgomery County Women's Center in their efforts to eliminate domestic violence and heal and lift up those who are victims of domestic violence in Montgomery and North Harris Counties. The Montgomery County Women's Center was the direct beneficiary of two funds at the Community Foundation: The Montgomery County Women's Center Fund and the Vernon Randolph Yeakley Fund for MCWC. The organization uses these funds to address their and clients' needs.

Shout Out to Obagi Cosmeceuticals for putting together an amazing donation event! Our Outreach Team took some time to speak about our agency's mission and the impact of their donations. Participants spent the day doing team-building activities and rounded out the event by putting together 16 diaper-filled bags with goodies for clients!

On January 11th, we were presented with a check for $4200! Thank you to the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office for this amazing donation! During Domestic Violence Awareness Month 2022, the DA Office personnel raised over $2000 for the Women's Center, and Brett Ligon matched all donations.
