I first heard Dan Neville's vibes playing around three years ago, and I immediately knew the future was bright for this rising star!
Over the years, Dan's remained very focused on his career, working hard at mastering different jazz styles, from bebop to Afro-Cuban. He's also plunged into the ever-so-challenging task as bandleader and is working on his BA at the California Jazz Conservatory in Berkeley, CA.
I've seen his dedication first hand, as Dan served empanadas and coffee for nearly a year at Chile Lindo. At the time he was also taking Spanish classes at CCSF, and loved to practice with the staff and customers.
I've also worked with Dan as a producer, as he performed on my productions of Catalina Claro's Bay Area concerts at the Make Out Room, the Golden Gate Business Association's 40th Anniversary Gala, and at the Napa Seafood Summit at Quintessa Vineyard. He even learned a
Cueca on the harp for a jazzy interpretation of Chile's folk music.
Golden Circle Sextet includes Dan Neville on vibraphone, Destiny Muhammad on harp, Rebecca Kleinmann on alto flute, Grant Levin on piano, Sam Bevan on bass, and Pepe Jacobo on drums.
The album,
Tenerife, features two renowned Bay Area musicians: Anthony Blea on Violin and John Santos on percussion.
Please support Dan and the Golden Circle Sextet for this
Kickstarter campaign and mark your calendar for upcoming events to celebrate the launch of
Tenerife.
