Hello King County Creative Connector Readers!

This month brings many good things to King County. We want to invite you to join us at these events this month:

King County Creative is partnered with Visit Seattle and the City of Seattle Office of Economic Development in producing Cloudbreak Music Fest for the second year in a row. This music tourism initiative features local musicians playing at independent music venues near the downtown core for 21 nights from 11/1 through 11/22. Downtown hotel guests have gratis access to any of the Cloudbreak shows. There are some amazing shows booked and more details are available here.

As a special bonus for our newsletter readers, the first 20 people to RSVP here will be granted complimentary access to a very special Cloudbreak show on Nov. 1st at 6pm at the Here-After featuring Grammy-Award winning producer Barrett Martin of Screaming Trees and Mad Season. Featuring an evening of storytelling, film and musical adventures in support of his new Screaming Trees Book, and forthcoming TV Series “Singing Earth”, Barrett will take you to new places. This event is restricted to those who are 21+. Don’t miss out!

On a different note, the next public tour of Harbor Island Studios is on Friday, November 3rd at 10am and you are invited. RSVP here.

Lastly, we hope to see you all at the The Summit on Nov. 11th and Nov. 12th at Harbor Island Studios!

Until then,

Kate & the King County Creative Team

King County Proposes Millions in Funding

for Cultural Sector

Read more here about a new proposal from King County Executive Dow Constantine that would enact a 0.1% sales tax increase to benefit local arts, culture, heritage and science organizations. If the ordinance to create the “King County Doors Open” program passes in the Metropolitan King County Council, more than $70 million could be distributed to hundreds of local nonprofit organizations each year.
