Dear Park Spanish Immersion Elementary School Community:
We are so excited to see our students back in our classrooms! We have had an amazing start of the year, and we hope that it has been great for your family, also! We have an incredibly talented group of staff members, and we are working hard on routines to create a safe and learning community. We are grateful to each of you for entrusting your children with us, and we look forward to collaborating with you as we work to realize our School District Vision Statement: "St. Louis Park Public Schools--Where students are seen and valued and become their best selves as racially conscious, globally minded contributors to society." Daily, we want to meet this goal for our students, as we work to align our structures and systems to achieve our Strategic Plan. See here for more information.
Please see below for more information about upcoming events and important announcements. Keep reading, take care, and we look forward to seeing you soon!

Pick-Up and Drop-Off - Kiss & Ride
Thanks to everyone for their patience as we are implementing our routines to ensure safety for all.
Please see here for reminders about our procedures. For student safety, please only drop off in the morning at door 3; please do NOT drop off at the main entrance (door 1). Due to buses, walkers, and bike riders, we need everyone to drop off in the line and not in front of the office. Please remember to pull all the way forward in line, and use the proper turn lanes when exiting. Note that there is only one entrance lane and two exit lanes.

K-5 A-E Specialist Calendar
At our school, our specialist classes rotate on an A, B, C, D, E day schedule. We do this so that students do not consistently miss classes on a particular calendar week day. Please see the September rotation schedule.
Your child's teachers will share your class's specialist rotation soon if they have not already.

PTO News Thursday, 9/8/23
Hello PSI Community! We hope you all had a great summer!
Mark your calendars for our 2nd annual PSI PTO Kick-off Party at Oak Hill. It will be on Tuesday, September 26th from 5-7pm. The event was a huge success last year, with great turnout and we’ll have even more food trucks and more fun this year! The entire school is invited, it’s a great way to meet other families and this year’s new Amity Interns. The kick-off is also the best way to hear about all of the PTO volunteer opportunities available for the year and sign up for those that interest you.
The PTO was busy over the summer and you might notice at drop-off that we were able to purchase and install four new picnic tables in the grassy area outside the kiss-and-ride doors. Our teachers have already used them while enjoying a PTO-sponsored lunch for their first prep day back at school this week. Check out the picture!
Finally, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention how tremendously successful our fundraising efforts were last year. Thanks to the entire Park Spanish community, we blew our fundraising goals out of the water. At the beginning of the 2022-23 school year, we set a goal to raise $54,000 and your extraordinary generosity resulted in us raising over $70,000! As you well know, costs everywhere are increasing, and this fundraising puts us on firm financial footing. Our Amity Intern program has seen the largest inflation in costs, but we are well-funded to sponsor 8 interns this year. You’ll see them in the school and at events all year long! We plan to offer a full slate of PTO-sponsored events this coming year as well, so thank you again for all your generosity.
Keep an eye on psiparents.com, La Prensa, and the ‘PSI Parents’ Facebook page for PTO updates throughout the year.
We’re looking forward to making this a great year with you!
