From School Leadership

December 19, 2024

Dear Park Spanish Immersion Elementary School Community:

We hope that you are having a great week. Many students were excited by the snow this morning, and some adults were not! Regardless, we are confident that fun will be had at recess!

As a reminder, winter break starts tomorrow after school, and classes will resume on Monday, January 6. We hope that you are able to make memories with your families. Thank you to our staff members for their many efforts as we lean into our district Strategic Plan for Racial Equity Transformation. During the break, we are encouraging staff members to disconnect and not check e-mails so that they are reinvigorated for teaching and learning in January.

Thanks for sharing your children with us and for partnering with us during the last several months. We continue to see amazing growth in our students, and we are confident that they will continue to progress academically, socially, and emotionally in 2025!

¡Hasta pronto!

In partnership,

Corey Maslowski, Principal

Megan Paulis de Rangel, Assistant Principal

P.S. If you are joining us tomorrow for class parties, please plan accordingly and remember that there is no longer street parking on Cedar Lake Road. Also, for everyone's safety, we need to keep the fire lanes open in case of emergency.

Meet the PSI Staff

In this section, we will be featuring some of our amazing PSI Staff so the community can get to know every adult in the building as we work together to support all students at PSI!

This week we want to introduce you to two of our staff members, Dana Baumeister and Rosaura Aparicio. Dana is our Social Worker and Rosaura is a Kindergarten teacher. We are so happy to have them here!

Science and Imagination Fair

We want all students to participate in the Science and Imagination Fair! This year's fair will be held January 29th from 6:00-7:30 pm in the Middle School Field House, and all PSI students are invited to submit a project and show off their creativity and brilliance! Projects do not have to be a traditional science project, anything that you'd like to create and share with the school, sculptures, works of art, or homemade contraptions, are welcome. Still not sure what to do? Take a peek at this Google Doc for links to more inspiration!

Winter break is a great time for your child to begin working on their project. Registration will open after returning from winter break. Keep an eye on La Prensa and the PTO website for more details!
