From School Leadership

December 14, 2023

Dear Park Spanish Immersion Elementary School Community:

We hope that you are having a good week! As a reminder, next Friday, December 22, starts our winter break. Classes will resume on Tuesday, January 2 for our students. School-wide, our winter parties will be next Thursday, December 21 and your child's teacher will communicate the time. As a reminder, please help us to be good neighbors and not block driveways, mailboxes, etc. When you arrive, check in at door 1, please make sure you have an orange visitor sticker and while in the building, please, please, please stop by the "Lost and Found" (located between the Media Center and Gym).

Tomorrow morning, we will host a K-2 and a 3-5 assembly to be in community, participate in a few activities, and to celebrate the great reading and financial accomplishments of our students during our annual PTO-sponsored Leer-a-tón.

Have a great week, keep reading, and thank you for sharing your children with us.

Sincerely,

Corey Maslowski, Principal

Kelsey Clark, Elementary Support Supervisor

P.S. See below about this year's Imagination and Inventors' Fair on Monday, January 8.

Meet the PSI Staff

Meet the PSI Staff

In this section, we will be featuring some of our amazing PSI Staff so the community can get to know every adult in the building better, as we all work together to support all students at PSI!

This week we want to introduce you to three PSI Staff members. Kelsey Clark is our Elementary Support Supervisor, Mayumi Huynh is a Multilingual Learner Teacher and Tori Bohn is a First Grade Teacher. We are so happy to have them! Please help us welcome them to the PSI Community.

K-5 A-E Specialist Calendar

In our SLP elementary schools, our specialist classes rotate on an A, B, C, D, E day schedule. We do this so that students do not consistently miss classes on a particular calendar week day. Please see the December rotation schedule.

Imagination and Inventors' Fair

Registration is open! Please fill it out at this link!

The 2024 PSI Imagination and Inventors' Fair is scheduled for Monday, January 8th, 2024 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the Middle School Field House. This is a big change from previous years, and being at the Middle School Field House should give us a lot more room for the event! Keep in mind that student works do not have to be a science project. Past projects have included catapults, test plants and sculptures, to name a few. The goal of the fair is to encourage all families to participate and nurture our children's love of science and imagination!

Winter break is a great time for your child to begin working on their project. Please register to attend at the link above!

Amity Introductions - Meet Josué

My name is Josué Avileo Ramirez Martinez. I am from El Salvador and it will be a pleasure to stay at your school and in your country. I hope to learn a lot about you.

Before I was selected as a candidate of the amity program, I was studying for my Bachelor’s degree in English at the University UNIVO, and working in my free time. I have a great family which is composed of my parents, 3 sisters, a nephew and a niece.

My favorite activities are: to play soccer, to study, to work as a hairdresser and my hobbies are: to draw, to paint, to ride my motorcycle, to watch anime, to practice extreme sports. Other important things about me are that I like to learn new things, I like to share with other people, and I am friendly, respectful and responsible.

Please note that the Family Dinner and Movie Night will be Thursday, April 25, from 5:30-8:00 p.m. at the Middle School.
