May 30, 2024
Dear Park Spanish Immersion Elementary School Community:
We hope this finds you well! It's been a great week of learning! Yesterday, former PSI students who will be graduating from St. Louis Park High School visited us and spent time in the building. It was so much fun to celebrate their journey with them, and we wish them well as they graduate! See here for a few photos.
Yesterday, our band and orchestra students performed for their third, fourth, and fifth grade classmates. They did an incredible job! Congratulations to the students, as well as to the many efforts of Sra. Brummel-Culver and Sr. Binger! Tomorrow, we will have our annual Cartonera celebration. We look forward to celebrating the students' hard work and their creativity. See below for more information. If you will be joining us for this (or any activity during the next week), please be aware of the construction on Cedar Lake Road and plan accordingly when looking for parking.
Take care, see you soon, and thank you for sharing your children with us.
Sincerely,
Corey Maslowski, Principal
Kelsey Clark, Elementary Support Supervisor
P.S. If you are in the building, please check out the "lost and found." Unclaimed items will be donated this summer.

Cartonera Project
Would you like to see how we used hundreds of cereal boxes? It’s almost time for the unveiling of our Cartoneras. On May 31, students will be sharing self-published books that they wrote and illustrated. These Cartonera books are incredible! They will be on display and available for reading May 31, 8:30-9:30 and 10:30-11:30 on the west lawn. Your child is invited to bring a blanket or towel to sit on as they take in the stories. Please join us for this wonderful literacy event!
Click here to see the schedule for when your student(s) class will be sharing their Cartoneras.

From Sra. Hidalgo, Kindergarten Assistant
Dear PSI Community:
I’ve made the decision to move back to Spain to be with my family at the end of this school year after a decade at PSI. I want to thank all of you for your kindness, support, and for trusting me with your children. I had so much joy watching them learn and grow over the years; their unexpected hugs in the hallways always made my day! I will miss them so much! I am both excited and nervous about the next chapter in my life, but I’m leaving with a suitcase full of wonderful memories.
Con mucho cariño,
Sra. Hidalgo
