June 1, 2023

Dear Park Spanish Immersion Elementary School Community,

It has been a great week of learning! I was so excited to see so many community members come together this morning to celebrate our brilliant students' hard work through the Cartonera project. Please see here for a few pictures. Congratulations to our writers and illustrators!

Yesterday, former PSI students, from the St. Louis Park High School Class of 2023, visited us. We congratulated them as they paraded through the building, and they connected with community members in a variety of ways. Please see here for a few pictures.

¡Hasta pronto!

Important PARKING Reminders

Parking is challenging when we have school events. When school parking lots are full, a friendly reminder that you may park on the south side of Cedar Lake Road, and on Flag Avenue.

We want to be good neighbors to the residents living near our school. PLEASE do not block driveways or mailboxes when parking offsite.

Incoming Kindergarten (2023-2024)

Spanish Summer Mini-Camp

Incoming kindergarten students are invited to sign-up for a summer mini Spanish camp through Community Education, and taught by PSI staff.

This four-day experience is designed specifically for kindergartners entering Park Spanish Immersion School in the Fall of 2023. Students enjoy learning songs, stories, games, and arts and crafts-all in Spanish! This camp is a great introduction to what students will experience in kindergarten as they learn classroom routines that will be used during the school year. There are a limited number of spaces, so register early. Please register for just one session. Scholarships are available.

PSI Kindness Rocks Garden

You’ll soon notice the PSI Kindness Rocks Garden out in front by Kiss and Ride. A special thanks to Charlie Younger and his dad Adam for all their help!

Judy Contreras, Sarah Reichert and Kandy Bowles recently won a grant through the St. Louis Park Foundation entitled, “Kindness Rocks at PSI.” Students in various classrooms have been embracing the concept of “kindness”.  The final phase of the grant was to paint rocks and establish a kindness rocks garden. By Friday June 2nd, you’ll notice out in front by kiss and garden, the “Kindness Garden”. The rocks have all been painted by the students. PSI will now be registered under the national organization of “The Kindness Rocks Project.” Our hope is that the garden continues to “spread” so feel free to paint and add a rock to help our garden “grow.” For more information about the Kindness Rocks Project visit
