From School Leadership

June 5, 2025

Dear Park Spanish Immersion Elementary School Community:

Although we are concluding this school year, we have been busy planning for next year.  We wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the efforts of each person in our community.  Everyone leaves fingerprints on our school and helps shape who we are.  Thanks to our fifth graders for their leadership as they become middle schoolers.  Additionally, we are grateful to our students and families who will be transitioning from our school next year.  Some of our fifth grade families have been with us for many years!

We would also like to extend our most sincere gratitude to our amazing staff members who dedicate themselves everyday to help our children.  Congratulations to our retirees:  Kandy Bowles, Kelly Etienne, Ricardo Franco, and Mariela Rodríguez!  They collectively have more than 100 years of service in education, with most of that in St. Louis Park Public Schools.  We are grateful for their commitment to our school and our mission!

As we transition into summer, we wanted to share our deepest gratitude to our families for sharing your children and entrusting us with their elementary school experience.  It has been a great year of opportunities and experiences, and we are grateful for your partnership.  May you have a wonderful summer filled with amazing memories.

Take care, and keep reading.

¡Hasta pronto!

In partnership,

Corey Maslowski, Principal

Megan Paulis de Rangel, Assistant Principal

End of Year Calendar of Events

Cartonera Success

Thank you to the community for making Cartonera such a memorable experience. It was wonderful to see students sharing their stories with families! We are grateful to everyone for their contributions to make this event possible. The organizing and instruction by teachers, and the writing and illustrating efforts from the students are the foundation. A special recognition to the office staff for making sure we had all the materials, the many staff members who worked with students to edit books, and the Middle School students who also came to support the writing process! Lastly, a huge thank you to those who sewed the books: Charity Barina, Malisa Lieser, Kelsey Thomes, Emily Barker, Shelby Strauss, and Becky Alexander!

Sharing Culture

This week, second grade had a cultural moment when a parent, Karen Quenroe, came in to share her Peruvian culture! Karen was also able to share a food called Juane, which is a typical dish from the Peruvian Jungle. Thank you for sharing with us!
