February 16, 2023

Dear Park Spanish Immersion Elementary School Community:

I hope that you are having a great week. I had a lot of fun at our PTO-sponsored math night last Thursday evening. Please see here for some photos. I really enjoyed being in community and connecting with some of our African American families on Monday as a part of National African American Parent Involvement Day! Please see here for a few pictures.

As I am in classrooms daily, I am reminded of the importance of our work, and I do not take for granted that you all have chosen to partner with us in helping your children to grow. We look forward to collaborating with families for Connect Times today and tomorrow as we plan together for the remainder of the school year. If you are coming into school, please check out the "Lost and Found" area between the gymnasium and the media center.

Take care, keep reading, and see you soon.

Sincerely,

Corey

PSI Drama Club Performs ¡El Grunch!

The Drama Club is preparing this year's musical. This year's show is a variation of Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, in which a student attempts to sabotage the school play. Will the Grunch be successful, or will the show go on?

All PSI students will see the show on Wednesday, February 22 at a school assembly.

Families are invited to attend the shows at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, February 24, or Saturday, February 25. Both performances will be at the SLP Middle School. There is no charge to attend. Shows will be in Spanish with some translation into English.

Feb. 22 is School Bus Appreciation Day

Governor Walz announced that February 22, 2023 is School Bus Driver Appreciation Day! The 35 W bridge will be lit up in “school bus yellow” to commemorate the day and school bus drivers across Minnesota will receive a declaration letter stating the Governor’s appreciation for their good work.

Our partners at Park Adam Transportation have the important job of safely transporting students to and from school each day. Drivers are some of the first people who interact with students each day and their engagement is essential to starting the school day off strong. Please take a moment to share your appreciation with school bus drivers next week!
