From School Leadership

November 7, 2024

Dear Park Spanish Immersion Elementary School Community:

We hope to see many of you "under the lights" at tonight's PTO-sponsored Family Fun and Fitness Night at the St. Louis Park High School Football Stadium from 6:00-7:00. It's always a great community time to have fun together!

On Monday, our students participated in a mock election during physical education class. Thanks to our staff and volunteers for helping provide this experience to learn more about the voting process and to vote.

Thank you for sharing your children with us, and thank you for being members of our community. We are grateful for each of you.

In partnership,

Corey Maslowski, Principal

Megan Paulis de Rangel, Assistant Principal

Meet the PSI Staff

In this section, we will be featuring some of our amazing PSI Staff so the community can get to know every adult in the building better as we work together to support all students at PSI!

This week we want to introduce you to one staff that is new to PSI this year. Libby Dominguez is our Social Emotional Learning Specialist (SEL). We are so happy to have her! Please help us welcome her to the PSI Community, and join us at the PTO meeting on November 21 to meet Libby.

Superintendent's Parent and Community Advisory Committee

The superintendent is seeking parents and community members that represent SLP’s student demographics to advise on students’ experiences in an effort to ensure that the district is meeting our stakeholders needs while staying relevant to current educational research. We are seeking 8 parents and 5 students to be a part of this group. If you are interested, email communications@slpschools.org.

A Mayor for a Day Essay Contest is Back!

To enter, fourth, fifth, and sixth graders can answer the prompt, “What would you do if you were mayor for a day?” for a chance to win $100 and recognition in Minnesota Cities magazine.

The deadline for submissions is Dec. 13. Students and parents/guardians can submit essays via an online form, a PDF email attachment, or through the mail. Winners only will be notified in early January. Some cities may provide additional local recognition for participants.

How can you submit your essays?

There are three ways to send us your students’ essays.

  • Submit online – students can enter their essays into this online form and submit them directly.
  • Print and Mail – you can print this document for students to handwrite their essays and then mail them in to 145 University Ave. W, Saint Paul, MN 55103.
  • Email as an attachment – students can type their essays into the fillable PDF, save the document, and then email the finalized PDF to mayorforaday@lmc.org.
  •

Complete the Budget Listening Session Survey

Your input matters! We’re inviting everyone to participate in the Budget Listening Survey, where you can share your thoughts and priorities to help shape our district's financial planning. The survey only takes a few minutes to complete, and every response brings us closer to creating a more inclusive, responsive budget. Whether it’s for supporting classrooms, enhancing programs, or maintaining facilities, your insights are essential in making impactful decisions.
