From School Leadership

December 21, 2023

Dear Park Spanish Immersion Elementary School Community:

We hope that your family has had a good week! While there is no snow on the ground, winter break starts tomorrow! As a reminder, classes will resume on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. During the break, we are encouraging staff members to disconnect, rejuvenate, and lean into their "sparks". As a part of this, we are encouraging them to not respond to e-mail over the break. When we return, as a way to support a safe and caring learning environment, our staff members will help transition students back to school by re-establishing routines and continuing to build our classroom and school communities.

Thank you for sharing your amazing children with us, and we look forward to our work together in 2024 on behalf of your children and all of our children.

Most sincerely,

Corey Maslowski, Principal

Kelsey Clark, Elementary Support Supervisor

P.S. We hope that your child will participate in this year's PTO-sponsored Imagination and Inventors' Fair on Monday, January 8. Please see below for more information.

Meet the PSI Staff

Meet the PSI Staff

In this section, we will be featuring some of our amazing PSI Staff so the community can get to know every adult in the building better, as we all work together to support all students at PSI!

This week we want to introduce you to three PSI Staff members. Tatiana Giraldo is a fourth grade teacher, Ryan Beagan is a paraprofessional and David Davis is the music teacher. We are so happy to have them! Please help us welcome them to the PSI Community.

K-5 A-E Specialist Calendar

In our SLP elementary schools, our specialist classes rotate on an A, B, C, D, E day schedule. We do this so that students do not consistently miss classes on a particular calendar week day. Please see the January rotation schedule.

Imagination and Inventors' Fair

Registration is open! Please fill it out at this link!

The 2024 PSI Imagination and Inventors' Fair will be held less than a week after returning from Winter Break. It will happen on Monday, January 8th, 2024 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the Middle School Field House. This is a big change from previous years, and being at the Middle School Field House should give us a lot more room for the event! Keep in mind that student works do not have to be a science project. Past projects have included catapults, test plants and sculptures, to name a few. The goal of the fair is to encourage all families to participate and nurture our children's love of science and imagination!

Winter break is a great time for your child to begin working on their project. Please register to attend at the link above!
