Welcome back, Rev. Darren Steadman
Please give a warm welcome to Rev. Darren Steadman who will be helping us worship while Rev. Shirley is this Sunday. Rev. Darren will be remembered by many as he previously served as Assistant Rector at Christ Church, before finding his current love as the Lower School Chaplain at St. Christopher’s School.
Do you have a welcoming spirit? Passion for connection? Consider serving on the Welcome and Fellowship Committee
It has felt so good to come back to church and experience the many ways that love is gathering. Visitors are finding us each week, and we want to be an inviting, welcoming, and nurturing congregation.

We are forming a new Committee to focus on welcoming and engaging new members and sharing fellowship for all. Would you like to join us? Does this sound like a calling for you? Please contact vestry member Jan Thomas at if you would like to hear more.
We're opening our doors to special campers this week
A warm welcome to Autism Society of Central Virginia and their upcoming summer camp! Starting Monday, this in-person camp session will take place in the Christ Church Garage Building. The camp is designed specifically for middle schoolers, high schoolers, and recent graduates with autism and will feature STEAM activities, as well as opportunities to practice social skills, life skills, and workplace readiness skills. We will be blessed by their presence and for this opportunity to BE the church!
Please continue to pray for our brothers and sisters in Haiti
The violence and chaos continue in Haiti and our hearts are breaking for our the people there. Christ Church has a long-standing partnership with Haiti. After the devastating earthquake in 2011, we were called to help and so began a long and beautiful relationship the people of Haiti, specifically with St. Marc's Episcopal Church in Lilevoix and St. Simeon Church in Croix-des-Bouquets -- and the school and clinic there.

We've sent mission teams, provided financial support, offered them up in continuous prayer, sponsored village-wide VBS, and even hosted their leaders here in Glen Allen.

Over the years, we've learned a word from our Haitian friends: lespwa, which means "hope." We've never stopped hoping for the people of Haiti.

Be part of an ancient tradition and serve your church in a special way. Acolytes and Acolyte Masters are needed!
Acolytes are a valuable ministry at Christ Church. By assisting with worship, it's a special way for young people to have a deeper connection with their church. Our church community also enjoys seeing our young people serve as active leaders during worship. The tasks are easy, and the reward is great! Acolytes must be a rising 4th grader or older. Adults are also needed to serve as Acolyte Masters, helping the acolytes on Sunday mornings. Any adult can serve as an acolyte master and many parents of acolytes find this to be a meaningful role.

The basic tasks can be found by clicking the button below. And tell your kiddo not to worry! Training is provided and acolyte masters are on hand to help acolytes on Sunday mornings. We will make sure children and youth feel prepared to serve.
Use your hands for good! We volunteer at Shalom Farms 2 days each every month.
The mission of Shalom Farms is to work with communities to ensure access to healthy food and the support to live healthy lives. Through sustainable food production and hands-on experiences at the farm and in the city, Shalom Farms provides thousands in Richmond with access to healthy food…and healthy lives.

Christ Church is committed to serving one Tuesday and one Saturday each month. On Saturdays, we join our friends from West End Islamic Center, so it's an opportunity to provide food for those in need, and extend a hand of hospitality to our Muslim neighbors.
