Lutz Lake Fern Campus News

Thanks to a partnership with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the Senior Center, we have created a fishing club for our 7th and 8th grade students.
Our students will take advantage of our lake front property while being able to share and receive their fishing knowledge with their teachers, peers and members of the community. We are looking for donations of rods, tackles, wading boots and time.
You can drop off any donated items at the Lutz Lake Fern front office and contact Coach Tone at
stone@learninggate.org
if you have any questions or interests in volunteering your time to support our club.

Ecofest Postcard Delivery
Earn 5 volunteer hours per area/category that you sign up for! Must email ecofest@learninggate.org the places you dropped the cards to. Minimum of 25 cards must be dropped. Come to Hanna Road office for your inch of cards
EcoFest Volunteers
EcoFest committee members needed. 10-20 hours available. Event date is 4/13/19.
At home volunteer opportunity
Looking for creative at home hour volunteers! Drawing, painting, creating for events in March and April.

Library Volunteers
We need assistance during the times classes are coming in and out of the library. Volunteers will work the circulation desk for checking books in and out, assist the children with locating books, light cleaning, and shelf returned books. Opportunities available throughout the school year!

Parenting Class- Hanna Campus
A new parenting class has been added to the calendar!
You are all invited to an informative session titled "The Power to Protect" It is a one hour presentation on the importance of protecting your child from serious diseases by vaccination. Our presenter is Adlin Santiago, RN from the Florida Department of Health.
2 parenting hours per parent will be awarded. To receive credit, please be sure to PRINT your name clearly on the sign in sheet as well as your student's first and last name.

Learning Gate Bio Blitz 2019
BioBlitz is an event in which teams of volunteer scientists, families, students, teachers, and other community members work together to identify the many species of plants, animals, microbes, fungi and other organisms.
This is Learning Gate’s 4th annual BioBlitz.

All lunches must be pre-ordered at my school account, link above.
Pizza is not available for emergency lunches.
Emergency lunch includes a cheese sandwich, fruit, vegetable and milk.
If there are hot meals available, they will be offered on a first come, first served basis.
If you have missed the ordering deadline, please contact Chef Jill or pack a meal from home.

Please remember to always have your yellow car tag displayed in your window at pick-up. There are additional yellow car tags in the front office if you need one.
If you are parking in the North Lot to pick your child up you must go to the office to sign in prior to picking your child up. This is only if you park and pick up.
Your child’s safety is our #1 concern.
