2nd-5th Grade, 3:15-4:15pm
TUESDAYS: Oct 25, Nov 1, 8, 15, 29, Dec 6, 13, 20
1st-3rd Grade, 3:00pm-4:00pm

Supervision and light snacks will be provided from dismissal until class starts. 
Class will be held in front of the kitchen area in Heron Hall. I will walk the students outside to the pick-up benches when class is over for you to pick them up.

Week 1: Caramel Apple Decorating, Intro to Cooking-we will be reviewing safety and sanitation. We will also have a taste testing session to explore flavors and textures. 
Week 2:  Loaded Macaroni & Cheese, Popcorn Crunch Bags
Week 3:  Chicken & Mashed Potato Bowls, Apple Cider Ice Cream Floats
Week 4: Italian Wedding Soup, Cookies & Cream Cookies
Week 5: Fall Feast-Sit down meal-Turkey Pot Pie/Biscuits, Apple Pie Roll Ups/Punch
Week 6: Croissant Egg Sandwiches Snowman Pancakes
Week 7: Winter Feast-Sit down meal -Stuffed Shells, Garlic Bread, Salad, Dessert, Punch
Week 8: Charcuterie Board design and Cookie Decorating

We need to fill our upcoming show with talented LG students!
We are looking for singers, musicians, artists, gymnasts, TikTok stars, comedians, magicians, and more! What talent do you have? Each student whose video is chosen will receive a free dress day! The Top three students will win a prize! Our 3rd Annual Zoom Talent Show is Saturday, November 5th!

October Menu
Lunch ordering must be completed by 12pm on Wednesdays for the following Mon-Fri.
We have a new vendor that requires us to send the orders early so please order ahead!
All meals must be preordered. Sandwich meals will be provided if hot meals are not preordered: My School Account

Breakfast is available at both campuses from 7-7:30am.
Kindergarten-2nd Grade students are sent to their classrooms at 7:30am.
3rd-6th grade students are sent to their classes at 7:45am.
Please allow enough time for your student to eat and be to class on time. 

Please pack water bottles every day!

Volunteers welcome at Hanna campus from 10:45am to 1:15pm.

This program benefits our Learning Gate families by offering an alternative to purchasing new uniforms and benefits Learning Gate Community School by assisting with funding major projects.

Volunteer Opportunities
Each family is required to complete 30 hours of approved volunteer time each school year.

Campus Clean-Up Help Needed
Help Needed 9:00am, Tuesday 10/4, at the Hanna Campus with clean up needs and tree removal.

Garden Volunteers Needed
We are having a garden workday to clean up our school garden on Tuesday October 4th from 8:30-11:30. Volunteers will earn 4 hours for helping. We will be cleaning up fallen branches and clearing out some garden beds. Please wear closed toed shoes and clothes that can get dirty/stained. Bring a hat, gloves, water, and insect repellent. Useful tools to bring include rakes and hand saws/pole saws to trim banana trees.

2022-2023 Arrival and Dismissal Information
Dismissal Reminders
Please pull into the lane assigned for your oldest child's grade level. We will have all siblings together and ready to go.

Please have your tag visible. Children will not be placed in a car that does not have a car tag displayed. You will be required to park and show ID in the front office before being allowed to take the child. This is for their safety!

Please do not be on the phone or have loud music. We want everyone to have their eyes and ears open and help to keep the kids safe!

If there is dangerous weather, students are dismissed from the front porch and the wait time can be a bit longer
