Guest Preacher: Rev. Brian Wallace

This Sunday, Sept. 7, we are excited to have Brian Wallace back at Northmont. Brian is a former intern at Northmont and current Associate Presbyter for Pittsburgh Presbytery.

Please join us in welcoming him back!

Pittsburgh Presbytery invites our members to join us in a leadership training event at Northmont United Presbyterian Church. Pastors, Elders, Deacons, church employees, and members will have the opportunity to attend two sessions with several options each. Dinner will be provided at a cost of $10 per person. We look forward to seeing you there!

WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY RETURNS:

WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY starts this Tuesday, September 9 at 1:30 in the Berean Room. Melody Hannegan, leader, will introduce the Horizons study for 2025-2026, titled: Finding Resilience, Joy, and Other Identity in Jesus Christ. Bible Study meets the second Tuesday of the month September through June.

REMEMBER: this Sunday's service will be out at North Park. All are welcome, even if you don't sign up in advance.

RESONANCE WORKS’ ACCLAIMED RESON8 VOCAL OCTET AT NORTHMONT!

Reson8: Hero Songs features the live premiere of Peter Hilliard and Matt Boresi’s song cycle of the same name, which explores the meaning of heroism and service in our past, present, and future. Interwoven with this thought-provoking cycle are works by Joel Thompson, Rosephanye Powell, Damian Geter, Reena Esmail, Melissa Dunphy, and more, each carefully chosen to complement and expand on the themes of Hero Songs. Together, they form a unified musical journey that amplifies the many dimensions of what it means to be a hero in today’s world.

This Sunday, the Chancel Choir joyfully returns to the sanctuary! I know you are as eager as I am to welcome them back as we continue our centennial celebration. The choir will lead us in songs of praise and thanksgiving for God’s grace over these 100 years.

We’re also excited to welcome a new voice in the tenor section. Our original tenor staff singer, Rob Frankenberry, has moved on, and we are delighted to introduce D.J. Pickell to the congregation. D.J.’s photo and biography are posted on the bulletin board outside the sanctuary. In addition to singing with us, D.J. will serve as the director of our Handbell Choir. Welcome, D.J.!

If you’ve ever considered singing with us, now is a wonderful time. We’re always open to new members. If you can read music, have a good voice and a positive spirit, and are seeking a more active worship experience, let’s talk! You can reach me at stephenrschall@msn.com

AMOS RETURNS!

& INTRODUCING: AMOS KIDS!

Beginning September 24, our inter-generational program returns with one important addition for some of our younger participants.

AMOS will keep the same format from 6-7:30 (dinner, activities and games for all).

But NOW, from 5:30-6pm we will have a special AMOS KIDS time for anyone “VBS age” to come and have their own activities and stories just for them. Afterwards, those participating will stay for dinner and can still get home at an hour that works best for younger kids.
