In addition to pausing to remember those who paid the ultimate price in service to our country and the reasons that Monday, May 27, 2024 is a federal holiday, I hope you will join me in expressing gratitude to the organizations and volunteers who are providing Memorial Day services and events including The Baldwin Pops, American Legion Post 199, Elks Lodge 1879, and VFW Post 5660.

Thank you to our readers as well. This week 405 members chose to either remain subscribed after the two-year break or signed up anew after learning that Let's Go Fairhope is back with more information than ever before.

Fun fact: Only two members unsubscribed, and of them was myself, inadvertently, related to an email-forwarding issue between Gmail and Constant Contact... Go figure. In any case, the statistics are encouraging.

If you haven't done so yet, please check out the new Let's Go Fairhope website and consider participating in the "Events in Fairhope" Facebook group. Your feedback is always welcome. Thank you to those who have sent encouraging messages and have already reached out regarding partnerships and sponsorships. If you know anyone who has an events-related business, please encourage them to consider advertising on the resources page of the site.

"Let's Go! Fairhope" News

The Baldwin Pops has announced that 2024 marks the first year of a new fundraiser for the organization. According to Anne Brooks, Baldwin Pops Scheduler and Assistant to the Conductor, the Baldwin Pop's constitution and by-laws requires that Baldwin Pops concerts are always free. This may seem like a problem for fundraising events for the organization, however the Baldwin Pops has ventured into a creative partnership related to the fact that three Baldwin Pops members perform in the Mobile Big Band Society.

Please consider marking your calendars to support The Baldwin Pops. Stay tuned for more information regarding tickets, or contact 251-278-853 / baldwinpopsband@gmail.com.
