I promise to bring back plenty of stories—but don't wait for me to start planning your own adventure! Where Looking to travel with a small group of friends or extended family?

August is a great time to visit Guanaja. The steady Caribbean trade winds blow throughout the late summer, bringing calm, flat sea conditions on the leeward sides of the island and cays.

August also marks the conclusion of the annual spawning of the Silversides, when you're likely to see newborns recently hatched traveling in massive schools that can fill the many swim-throughs and caverns prolific around Guanaja. Snorkelers can share the experience by taking a peek under and around the Villa's dive docks, where they are known to hide out until they are brave enough to venture out to the reefs. Such a treat!
