Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist James B. Stewart, of the New York Times, will deliver the Idaho Humanities Council’s 11th Annual Eastern Idaho Distinguished Humanities Lecture on Thursday, April 12, 2018, 7 p.m., at the Shilo Inn in Idaho Falls. His topic will be “Truth Matters: How Fake News and False Statements Undermine America.” 

Field of Honor Memorial hosted by the Idaho Falls Exchange Club will feature 1,000 large US flags flying atop 8’ poles in perfect rows leading uphill to the Vietnam War Memorial in Freeman Park on May 26-28. This is a great opportunity to salute a veteran, first responder, unknown soldier, child abuse victim or any hero of your choice by sponsoring a flag in their name at fieldofhonor.net . Net proceeds will be used to support the prevention of child abuse, local veteran’s groups and crime prevention. Ceremonies, fly-overs and music will be played throughout the weekend event. Open to the public.
