Wright Enterprises Expanding to Dallas...

Dallas Morning News Endorsed Mayoral Candidate Philanthropist, Lynn McBee flanked by Wendy Pryne of Blessed Bling, Sheila Ninowski of The Dallas Dream Team, Staffer Samantha Matthew (r) and Supporter Winsor Barbee President of The Marketing Collaborative (l) at Gateway Church founded by Pastor Robert Morris supporting Youth Believing in Change .

Dallas -On May 4th, Dallas may have its fourth female Mayor in Lynn McBee.  After a day volunteering at McBee's campaign headquarters, I saw her in action at   Gateway Church in North Dallas. Noting the Dallas Morning News endorsed McBee as Mayor, additional affirmation of her leadership came at the "Youth Believing in Change" event honoring philanthropists, Sylvia and Dennis Turnbull.

McBee was the keynote speaker. She talked about " Youth Believing in Change (YBC)," the accomplishments of the Turnbull's raising over $3 million dollars in short order to sustain and stabilize YBC, and the amazing on-going life changing work of founders Vince and Angela Gaddis.

I witnessed something rarely seen during the final days of a political campaign.  McBee encouraged the audience to financially support YBC and she said she would lead the way with a gift of $5,000. Instead of asking for financial

support for her campaign, the former research scientist & biotech executive, now head of a statewide educational non profit (and Texas is a big state), chose to give away money.  The President of The Marketing Collaborative in Dallas,  Winsor Barbee's introduction of McBee as a bold leader was affirmed at that very moment of the event.  What's the old saying, "putting your money where your mouth is?"

For more about McBee's initiatives that include 1) growing the police department
Yes, McBee will grow the police department as an initiative; but this donut represents the wisdom of one of her supporters. Click image for details.

Wright Enterprises may be within midst of the tale of two major cities that have women as Mayor,  San Francisco with Mayor London Breed and Dallas with possibly Mayor Lynn McBee.

I first met Lynn McBee when she chaired the Dallas International Film Festival in 2012. She is described by many who have benefited from her 25 years of rolling up her sleeves as "a servant leader."  My 2012 article that included a mention of McBee was posted in W.E. Community Spotlight and the San Francisco BayView Newspaper.

Taste of Heaven on Earth eatZi's. One of the benefits of volunteering at the Lynn McBee for Mayor campaign. Click the image to see some of the mouth-watering fare. Not fair, you can't taste and see.
Volunteering for McBee's campaign, can be like "having your cake and eating it too," with eatZi's just down the street!   Bon Appétit!  Jackie Wright

San Francisco Stands in Solidarity with Sister City Paris
Mayor of "The Paris of the West," London Breed speakers to the Grace Cathedral audience gathered on Monday at the "Solidarity Concert for Notre Dame."  (Photo by Johnnie Burrell of www.internationalmediatv.com .  Click Image for ABC report that includes the French Consul General and an organist who was playing the organ for mass when the fire broke out two weeks ago damaging the world renown historic christian church).

"San Francisco is proud to stand in solidarity with the people of Paris, our sister city, and the world to celebrate the beauty, spirit and resilience of Notre Dame de Paris," said Mayor Breed. "Watching Notre Dame burn was devastating, just as it was also horrible to witness a series of historic Louisiana churches burnt in recent arson attacks. Our houses of worship hold a special place for our cities and our people, and we are proud to support the people of Paris as they begin the work to rebuild the iconic monument in the heart of their city."

International Coalition to Commemorate the African Ancestors of the Middle Passage (ICCAAMP)

USA, April 15, 2019 - The International Coalition to Commemorate African Ancestors of the Middle Passage (ICCAAMP )   was formed in 2015 to organize activities that are designed to remember the millions of Africans who were sold, kidnapped, shipped then died along the route from Africa to the Americas.  ICCAAMP also honors and commemorates those who survived the transatlantic trafficking in African people known as the Maafa, Black Holocaust, and Middle Passage.

I CCAA M P has proclaimed every second weekend in June (beginning in 2016) as the international commemoration to Remember the Ancestors of the Middle Passage - the Maafa, with simultaneous activities hosted by ICCAAMP members in African-descended communities across the United States and internationally. It will begin with prayers and the pouring of libation promptly at 12 noon ET on Saturday, and continued prayer services at Black religious and spiritual institutions on Sunday - this year the dates are June 8-9, 2019. For Complete Release Click Here.
