Nubian Tour Guide
Ongoing | 9th to 12th
As a tour guide, you will be responsible for leading groups of guests on a walking tour of Nubian Square, which includes the METCO HQ Exhibit Hall and historical sites in our surrounding community. Students must be able to engage in public speaking and have an outgoing personality. $50 stipend per tour. Tours are scheduled periodically on Saturdays and early evening hours.

METCO HQ Teen Ambassadors Program(TAP)
November 4th deadline | 9th to12th Grade
TAP is a youth organizing and engagement program designed to create an affinity space for METCO high school students from our 33 districts and develop their leadership skills. Youth will have the opportunity to share their experiences for program improvements and organize events that are enriching, fun, and educational. Stipend will be given for this program.

New Youth Unscripted
Ongoing | 9th to 12th Grade
Youth Unscripted is a creative arts after-school program open to Boston-area high school students interested in a welcoming space where young people can share their experiences, practice leadership skills and use creativity for social change. The program is led by Urban Improv actor-educators on Mondays from 4:30 – 6pm, from mid-October to late March.

New "I Got The Keys to College" Bootcamp
October 22 | Parents and students
Whether you're a parent or student, planning for college can be an exciting, but difficult task. This event will be held on Saturday, October 22, from 9AM-2PM at Northeastern University, and includes how to plan for college academically, socially and financially! Get your KEYS to college today! New Writing Our Truth in the Park
October 29th | Girls (all ages)
This event will give young BIPOC girls and women a special opportunity to express their hearts and minds in writing! BIPOC girls and women can attend the creative workshops, where young people can write stories, essays, and poems about their memories and experiences in Boston's public parks.

New Social Justice Internships
Rolling deadline | 11th to 12th Grade
The internship is for high school students committed to change and interested in gaining work experience in a small nonprofit organization that focuses on dismantling systems of oppression and collaborating for collective liberation. Both the Fall and Spring after-school programs require 5 hours per week for 12 weeks. Applications for the internship will be accepted on a rolling basis after October 1, 2022.

In partnership with SOLIDWORKS, yCITIES Innovation Challenge is an intensive virtual incubator, specifically designed for middle and high school students, where students will learn frameworks for entrepreneurial problems, how to prototype, strategies for effective storytelling and how to create a commercially viable product.

826 Boston Tutoring
Rolling deadline | Children and Teens
Evening Tutoring sessions for students grades 6-12 are offered Monday and Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:00 PM at 826 Boston's tutoring center, located at 3035 Washington Street in Egleston Square. Newly enrolled families will be offered one to two days per week, as availability allows.

Art Club is a Bi-Weekly after school event that runs until November 2022. Kids DO NOT need to attend every meeting to participate! Registration helps ensure they have enough art supplies for each participant. However, drop-ins are welcome!

New Base Open House

The BASE program is hosting an open house on Thursday, October 26th, from 6:00 pm-7:30 pm. The BASE staff will be in attendance to answer questions regarding their year-round baseball, softball, and basketball instruction, leagues, and travel teams, eSports League, Robotics, and College Access & Career Pathway programs.

New LEAP Lab: Kids’ Clothing Exchange

Out with the old, in with the new! Co-presented with MIT Spouses and Partners Connect, the exchange will include kids’ clothing, outerwear, shoes, toys, and books. Expectant parents are welcome. No need to bring clothes to participate, but please bring bags to take home your new finds. This event will be held on October 29th from 10AM - 12PM!

New Boston Book Festival

The Boston Book Festival returns to Copley Square with a kick-off on Friday, October 28 and continuing all day on Saturday, October 29. Join 200 fiction, nonfiction, YA, and kids authors for a day of readings and discussions, book signings, workshops, kids activities, walking tours, the Copley Square Street Fair, live music, food trucks, and other lively events.
