State Chamber Update
Last week, Wilmington welcomed over 1,000 millennials and other professionals to the Chase Center for the third annual Millennial Summit. The event had over 150 speakers covering topics in advocacy, nonprofit involvement, entrepreneurship, business, leadership and more. Featured speakers included Clay Mowry, VP of Marketing for Jeff Bezos' space exploration company, Blue Origin; Kechi Okwuchi, singer, motivational speaker, burn survivor advocate, and a two-time finalist on America’s Got Talent; Del Johnson, Principal at Backstage Capital; and Wayne Kimmel, a sports tech venture capitalist, entrepreneur and author who has been named a top Innovator and one of the Philadelphia Business Journal's Power 100.
Delaware elected officials showed up in full force and hundreds of organizations throughout the state were represented in attendees, panelists, sponsors and partners. The Chamber is a founding organization for the event with our own Kelly Basile and Denée Crumrine serving on the planning committee. Denée also co-chaired the event's nonprofit subcommittee, helping to coordinate several sessions.
