Meet Our Members, where we shine a spotlight on the incredible organizations making a difference across Greater Cincinnati. This series celebrates groups that are creating access, opportunity, and lasting impact in our communities.

Last Mile is a Greater Cincinnati food rescue organization on a mission to save good food and get it to those who need it most. Last Mile recently received a challenge grant from the Ohio EPA to purchase two additional refrigerated containers that can hold up to 40 pallets of fresh food as they prepare it to deliver to foodbanks and pantries. These funds are a 4-to-1 match, so they must raise $50,000 to receive the $200,000 grant. Contributions for their Beat the Heat campaign are being accepted here.

Make a Wish Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, Support Make-A-Wish through Community Shares here.

Shoes 4 the Shoeless is a Non-Profit organization that provides brand-new gym shoes and socks to children in need. Support Shoes 4 the Shoeless through Community Shares here.

Neighborhood Allies is a grassroots organization with a mission of "Changing the world one street at a time; helping meet basic needs, promoting equality, and creating community-wide positive change." Support Neighborhood Allies through Community Shares here.

A sincere note of appreciation for everyone who supported Community Shares over the past year. Our recently-completed 2025-26 fiscal year was one of our strongest ever. We:

·      successfully implemented a new partnership with the city on grants management

·      leveraged our Public Ally fellow to re-engage and expand member services and marketing strategies

·      exponentially increased our social media reach

·      maintained our workplace giving campaign with massive increases at several workplaces

·      completed a new strategic planning process

·      and fully restored our reserves we had dipped into two years ago to help cover a fundraising shortfall at that time.
