Community Shares Faces Attacks On Our Communities With Unprecedented Growth

Neighbors Help Neighbors Resist

As the existence of many of the vulnerable populations served by Community Shares and our Member charities across Greater Cincinnati is increasingly under threat, we have also seen something powerful rise in response: community.

Neighbors helping neighbors. That is what Cincinnati is about. I’ve often said it’s just a small town with a lot more people in it—and we are seeing that spirit in action every day.

This year, we experienced double-digit increases in giving across several workplace campaigns, as people dug deeper to support causes under attack. Individual giving outside the workplaces rose by more than 20 percent compared to the previous fiscal year ending June 30.

This summer, we also welcomed 12 new Member charities and fiscal sponsorships—the largest single-year increase in our history—bringing us to a record 55 Member organizations working on the front lines of social justice, environmental sustainability, and animal welfare.

But the need continues to grow, and so must we. This moment calls for sustained, collective action—and we cannot do it alone. The network we’ve built is strong, connected, and making a real difference, but it depends on supporters like you.

If you believe in protecting and advancing justice in our community, please make a gift to Community Shares today. Your support ensures that these vital organizations can continue their work—right now, when it matters most.
