Lauren has a background in managing discretionary grant making programs and working alongside a diverse array of nonprofits to provide training in grant writing, research, board governance, outcomes thinking, and best practices. She brings a funder’s perspective to grant writing and research and has a passion for identifying funding opportunities that align with an organization’s objectives. 

Lauren holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Wilmington University and a B.A. in Philosophy from Salisbury University.

The 5th area of the funder stage is stewardship. To strengthen this aspect of your approach, chat with Melvin. He enjoys coming up with communication strategies (web, social media, ads, videos, thank you notes, etc.).

Melvin holds a M.A. in Communication from Hawaii Pacific University and a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication from Drake University.

Often times grants may be written by more than one contributing writer, from NPA or from people within the organization seeking the grant. Brenda's strength in editing is making sure the grant is presented with one cohesive voice, so it reads smoothly. Having spoken five different languages, she enjoys the art of editing and has edited for technological brochures, personal memoirs, and even children's books.

Brenda has her Doctorate in Chiropractic and her B.S. in Human Biology

Bonnie enjoys organizational alignment, strategic planning, board governance, and grant research. Her passion is helping nonprofits custom design grant management methods that allow grant research to be accessible, viewed in funder stages, and all documents to be kept in one place. This facilitates online collaboration with funder priorities and each nonprofit's needs or opportunities.

Bonnie holds a Master's in Management from the University of Phoenix, a B.S. from the University of Oregon in Parks and Recreation, and an A.A. from El Camino College, CA.

Charlotte enjoys working to make positive change with clients involved with arts, culture, and the humanities; youth and children; education; environment and animals; and/or human services/social justice.

Charlotte holds a B.A. in Politics from Whitman College, where she graduated with distinction and was the recipient of the prestigious 2020 Robert Y. Fluno Award.

Kirk has been a director of institutional philanthropy and a grant writer for nearly 30 years. He has helped encourage investment in and build capacity for missions related to disabilities, education, employment, and social services, with particular expertise in family foundations, local government contracts, and federal grants.

Kirk holds a master's degree in nonprofit leadership from Seattle University and is a recurring trainer and speaker for the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

A seasoned nonprofit leader, Robin specializes in startups, established nonprofits looking to grow to the next level, and established organizations looking for change. For grants, Robin works in housing, social change, and community development in Federal, corporate, private, and foundation spaces.

Robin holds a bachelor's degree in English, with a certification in Fundraising Management from Purdue, and has her CFRE.

Jess has worked with clients to manage their grant projects from early prospecting and finding the right match, to the application phase, acceptance, and through reporting requirements.

Jess earned her Master's in Public Administration with a focus on nonprofit management from the University of New Orleans in 2010, and her Bachelor's in Philosophy from Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA in 2006. 

For more than a decade, Angela has successfully secured millions in grants for various causes and organizations. She is known for her ability to develop creative and effective fundraising strategies that align with an organization's mission and goals.  

Angela holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Social Sciences, attended Harvard University for a graduate degree, and is currently pursuing her Juris Doctorate at Northwestern California University School of Law. She has also completed various courses on fundraising, grant writing, and donor relationship management.

Dr. Portolese is an expert in research and evaluation, and a seasoned writer with more than six published textbooks, numerous articles, and of course, grants. Laura is able to easily identify the funder's needs and use persuasive writing techniques to achieve grant funder success for clients.

Laura has a Doctorate of Business Administration from Argosy University, an MBA from City University, and a B.S. in business from The University of Montana (go Griz!). 

Dr. Lisa Price is a research biochemist, author (Demos Health Inc., NY), active primary care provider, National Institutes of Health Research Fellow, and playwright. She has written successful science-based private, as well as NIH grants, arts grants; and teaching curricula.

Lisa holds a certificate from the University of Washington in Biomedical Regulatory Affairs (CBMRA) which allows maneuvering through FDA regulatory processes associated with clinical trials. 

Emily’s grantwriting expertise is in identifying alignment between a nonprofit client and potential funders, and then demonstrating how supporting this nonprofit will enable a funder to accomplish their philanthropic goals. She has been writing grant proposals since 2008, including for arts, environmental, social service, scientific, and educational projects.

Emily earned a B.S. in Communications from the State University of New York Empire State College. Other foundations for her grantwriting skills are three decades as a journalist, six years managing a nonprofit theater’s membership program, 15 years attending or leading Puget Sound Grantwriters Association programs and more than 50 years participating in the performing arts.
