A change of pace for  artist
 Fer Caggiano

"I was born and raised in the busy city of São Paulo. When I was 23, I moved to New Jersey to study at The Art Student League in Manhattan. I spent three years there. The next move was to London, where I spent another two years of my life. I was used to an extremely busy pace, surrounded by a very stressful urban scene.

The move to South Carolina came as a huge blessing. The mellow mood and friendly atmosphere have influenced a lot of my recent work, leading to the most peaceful and relaxed pieces of my career. I'm thrilled to present to you the MelLowCountry collection."

Please join Fer & all of us at the Lowcountry Artists Gallery for some light hors d'oeuvres and Sangria!

"Charcoal drawing is my way of linking humanity to nature. Trees talk to me about their history, their struggles, and their lovers. Nature tells me stories of infinite possibilities. It encircles me, feeds me, and touches me deep inside ... and I grow."   -Silvestro

Southern Traditions
Volume III in the Shrimp, Collards
and Grits series by Pat Branning

Busting with superb photography, fine art and exquisite table designs, Southern Traditions is a sumptuous showcase of inspired recipes and elegant entertaining ideas that add rich character to any gathering.

Make every day an occasion worthy of celebration with vibrant tablescapes and imaginative ideas. Whether you are hosting a humble backyard barbecue for a few friends and family, or a grand dinner party for ten, you will find ideas for hosting with style, grace and an element of surprise.

Bringing together those we care about and love is more than serving a meal.  It's all about our greatest tradition of all, Southern hospitality.

Woven throughout is a creative narrative revealing the secrets of one of the most mysterious, romantic regions of our great Southland, the Lowcountry.

Our wonderful watercolor artist Sandra Roper's work is being featured! Details on its arrival will appear in next month's newsletter!
                             Rising Waters
Marty Biernbaum received a purchase award for her Encaustic piece, titled "Rising Waters",  from the Palmetto Hands Fine Craft Competition  which is part of the North Charleston Arts Fest in May 2018.  It will be part of their permanent collection.

Marty was also chosen by the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism to be the 2018 Artist in Residence at Oconee State Park. Marty is currently working on a painting to present to the park inspired by her stay in the spring. Her plein air sketch will be the basis for the completed oil painting. This original as well as all the paintings inspired by her stay will be available in the gallery in the fall.
