An exclusive, docent-led tour of
the Grand Rapids Art Museum's exhibit,
Women, Art and Social Change:
The Newcomb Pottery Enterprise!

Grand Rapids Art Museum
Thursday, April 14th, 6:30 p.m.
No charge
Limited to 40 participants
Sign up begins at the annual reception at the Women's City Club on Wednesday!

Forty GGRWHC members will be treated to a guided tour of the  Grand Rapids Art Museum's second floor galleries by the museum's dedicated docents. The story of Newcomb Pottery began just after the Civil War as a quietly radical experiment, offering an unprecedented opportunity for southern women to train as artists and support themselves financially. Working as a collective, the enterprise produced a rich body of work - not only world renowned pottery, but also metalwork, textiles, bookbinding and jewelry.
The tour of  Women, Art and Social Change: The Newcomb Pottery Enterprise takes approximately one hour.  After the tour GGRWHC members will have time to explore  the GRAM's other galleries and visit the Museum Store. Group tour participants will receive 10% off their purchases in the store.
*** If any reserved spots remain after our event on Wednesday, GGRWHC members will find details and reservation information on our website.

For more information on the exhibit, see the  GRAM website
