Greetings!

It’s hard to believe that we are already 19 days into the new year, and we are going full throttle into an exciting 2023. We are so excited to be starting a new year and you will see by our first newsletter of the year below, we are starting strong! Reflecting on 2022 and looking forward into 2023, we are confident that our members will be pleased with the benefits of their Chamber membership including opportunities for networking, education and advocacy.

We will continue to host our iconic events and add some new ones. Keep an eye out for our newsletters, e-blasts and posts on the Chamber’s social media pages for the latest updates and news. Feel free to reach out to the Chamber if you have an idea or want to volunteer or sponsor an event.

Our Chamber is one of the strongest voices for the businesses and organizations in our area. It is important for us to band together as a business community, celebrate our achievements and accomplishments, and promote policies that will address the challenges we face today. We advocate for all businesses, both large and small.

It is my honor and privilege to serve as Executive Director and I look forward to working with our Board, Chamber members and the great staff to make this a momentous year!

IL State Required Anti-Sexual Harassment Training

In 2019, the Illinois Legislature passed the Illinois Workplace Transparency Act. As a result, employers must provide anti-sexual harassment training to their employees at least once per year. Failure to do so could result in employers being fined by the Department of Human Rights.

Rick Lofgren and Charles Wentworth of The Law Office of Lofgren & Wentworth, P.C. have recorded a 20-minute presentation that you can use to provide the training to your employees, and they have been gracious enough to let the Chamber use for its members. For $10 per employee, we will provide to you a link to the video, as well as the Certificates of Participation for each employee who views the program.

Did you complete your Anti-Sexual Harassment Training? If not, register today so you and your employees can complete this requirement.

*This program is NOT for restaurants or bars. We will soon email you when a presentation will be available for those serving alcohol.
