UC Open Enrollment Continues: Open Enrollment (OE) for 2024 benefits continues until Friday, Nov. 17, at 5 p.m. With significant increases in medical plan costs, UCSF has made multiple support resources available including virtual OE help desks, inpatient hospital rounds and a consulting service for employees considering changing their medical plan. New Head of UCSF Office of Enterprise Emergency Management: Justin Dombrowski has been named executive director of the newly formed UCSF Office of Enterprise Emergency Management. Justin has over 25 years in emergency management at the local to international levels in government and the private sector. His career with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) included roles as a federal coordinating officer, director of response and deputy director of external affairs. Read more about Justin »


Non-Essential Travel Advisory: The University of California Office of the President has asked the UC community to avoid all non-essential travel to the Middle East North Africa (MENA) region for the foreseeable future due to ongoing escalated security risk during the conflict. UCSF Health Patient Care Fund Call for Applications: The Patient Care Fund seeks proposals from residents and fellows that will improve the quality of patient care at UCSF Medical Center sites across the Bay Area. Flu Shot Deadline Has Arrived: The compliance deadline for UCSF faculty, staff and learners to get their flu shot is today. Flu vaccines are required by public health agencies and the University of California. If you receive your flu vaccination from a provider outside of UCSF Occupational Health, please submit the record via the OHS portal (MyAccess required) or email [email protected]. The flu record should have at least two identifiers: Name, date of birth (DOB) or medical record number (MRN). If it only includes one identifier, write your UCSF employee identification number or DOB on the record. Get more information »

Public Lectureship and White Paper Competition Opens: UC Center Sacramento has announced the 2023-24 Public Lectureship and White Paper Competition to stimulate multidisciplinary evidence synthesis and creative problem solving. The competition focuses on one of two policy themes: Promoting Environmental Justice and Creating a More Functional Democracy. Proposals are due by midnight on Thursday, Nov. 16. Read more »
