The ACBL Board of Directors held an online special meeting Wednesday, December 18. Fall F2F meetings were held November 24 through November 26 at the NABC in Vegas.

Improving the player experience during NABCs

The Board approved a management proposal to modernize equipment used during NABC and NABC regional events. Equipment will be purchased for use in the main playing area of the NABC in Memphis with additional purchases made by Q4 of 2025. Dot matrix printers will be replaced with laser printers and Swiss racks/inserts and timers will be replaced with digital displays.

New pairs event 

The Board approved the Conditions of Contest and the Masterpoint Chart for Bracketed Pairs, a two-session Championship event for open regionals. The rollout will be gradual during 2025 and will require the approval of ACBL.  

Goodwill Reception moved to Memphis NABC 

The ACBL Board of Directors voted to move the Aileen Osofsky (ACBL) Goodwill Reception from the summer NABC in Philly to the spring NABC in Memphis. Space constraints and spare cycles on the part of the services team prompted the change.
