Annual Congregational Meeting
Every year, every Presbyterian Church holds an Annual Congregational Meeting. The Book of Order (G-1.0501 Annual and Special Meetings) states, "The congregation shall hold an annual meeting and may hold special meetings as necessary, for any or all of the purposes appropriate for congregational consideration."

The Session has called a Congregational meeting for Sunday, February 7 at 2:00 meeting on ZOOM. The purpose of this meeting is to hear and receive the reports of the officers of the congregation and the committees of the Session. The congregation will also elect five members for the Nominating Committee.

A written Annual Report is available to every member for whom we have an email address. Paper copies are being sent in the mail to those without email access.

You can also connect to the meeting by phone:
Phone: 346 248 7799
Meeting Number: 858 4077 7983
Access Code: 666832

First Sunday Communion
This Sunday, February 7, the congregation will celebrate the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper during worship. If you participate in the livestream worship service, please have appropriate elements at hand so that you can share in the sacrament with those present in the sanctuary.

Souper Bowl of Caring
On February 7th, 140 million Americans will tune into the Super Bowl football game. There will be people watching the game with bowls filled with snack food, platters of nachos, and a single lonely veggie tray. At the same time, there will be people worrying about finding shelter and food to eat. Please join young people around the country as they demonstrate God's love by helping their neighbors through the Souper Bowl of Caring. Since 1990, youth have raised more than $71 million for hunger efforts.

Parkway youth will join young people in churches across the U.S. to collect money for those who are hurting and hungry. After worship, youth will hold soup pots at the sanctuary doors where you can drop monetary donations. For those attending worship online, there is an opportunity to give to the Souper Bowl of Caring through the church website,

Thanks for helping us tackle hunger!

Session Highlights
· Approved a fundraising effort to build a security wall at Hope Academy in
Guatemala. The estimated total cost for the wall is $20,000.
· Approved contracting with Baldwin Roofing to repair the roof on the "eye of
the needle" connecting the Narthex to the Sanctuary.
· Educational Ministries is organizing several Lenten activities that provide social
  distancing and fellowship.

Sara's Kids
We continue to provide birthday gifts for foster children through the ministry inspired by late member Sara Ward.  She was a social worker at the Child Protective Service and bought birthday gifts for foster children  after she retired.  When this was shared at her memorial service, Parkway members were inspired to memorialize her in this manner.  Since 2007 individuals have signed up at the beginning of a month to make sure a child in foster care is remembered on his/her birthday.

During the pandemic it has been harder for members to get to church to sign up and to get out and shop.  Some members now use an online sign up to choose a child.  The gift is then dropped off at the church. Others donate cash.  This may be done by check to Parkway with Sara's Kids in the memo line.  Or you may donate online at the church website.  These funds are used to buy gifts, including gift cards for teenagers, which are delivered directly to the church or to Lessie Hoffman's house for wrapping.

Watch for the list of children with March birthdays which will be available shortly.  That will be your chance to sign up or to donate.  Gifts are due at church before the end of the month so they may be delivered to Family Protective Services by the first of March.

Help keep this ministry going!

Our condolences to David, Carolyn and Max Yoskowitz
David's father, Bill Yoskowitz, who passed away unexpectedly in Chico, California.
