New Sermon Series:
Wrestling with Doubt
Everyone has doubts. Where is God when bad things happen? Does God really hear our prayers? Is there a heaven—and how can we know?
Too often, we treat these questions as the enemy of faith. But doubt doesn’t mean belief is weak. In fact, honest questions can open the door to a deeper, more meaningful encounter with God. In our New Year sermon series, Wrestling with Doubt, we will lean into some of our most significant uncertainties and discover how steady trust can grow right in the middle of them. Together, we will explore a faith that is unafraid of hard questions and rooted in God’s grace. Whether you are a longtime Christian, returning after time away, or just beginning to explore faith, you are welcome here. Come as you are. Bring your questions. Let’s wrestle together and discover how God meets us there.
January 11 – Is There a God? - Genesis 1:1–2:4a (Baptismal Remembrance)
January 18 – The Good Book? Wrestling with the Bible - 2 Timothy 3:16-17
January 25 – Are All Non-Christians Going to Hell? - 1 Timothy 2:3-6
February 1 – Is Heaven Real? - John 14:1-3
February 8 – When Prayers Go Unanswered - Psalm 22:2, John 15:7 and Luke 22:42
February 15 – Why do the Innocent Suffer? - Genesis 1:27-28

Greetings Church Family!
Thank you for the generous Christmas gift. Your extravagant generosity is a true gift, and I receive it with deep gratitude. In the months I have been among you, I have experienced your hospitality, your care, and your dedication to making a real difference in this community and in my personal life. That spirit of generosity is not just financial; it is woven into who you are as a congregation. It is a blessing to serve alongside all of you who give so freely of your resources, your time, and most of all your hearts. Thank you for the many ways you have welcomed me and for the trust you have placed in our shared ministry. I am thankful for you and excited for all that God is continuing to do in and through this church.
With gratitude and joy,
Martha

A Note from the Pastor:
Doubt is often treated as the enemy of faith. We whisper it, hide it, or feel ashamed when questions rise up inside us. But Scripture tells a different story. From beginning to end, the Bible is full of people who wrestled with God, questioned God, and dared to ask hard questions, yet were met with grace. In the opening words of Genesis, we hear a bold, simple claim: “In the beginning, God…” Before explanations, before arguments, before certainty, there is God. Genesis does not try to prove God’s existence it’s not a scientific report. Light breaks into darkness. Order emerges from chaos. Life is spoken into being. The story begins not with certainty, but with trust that there is the one true God at work in the midst of it all.
Many of us come to Genesis 1 carrying our own doubts. Is there a God? Where is God when the world feels broken? Can faith survive questions? These are not modern questions; they are human ones. And they are welcome here. Over the coming weeks, we will begin a new sermon series, Wrestling with Doubt, where we will bring our questions out into the open. I personally don’t rush to easy answers or pretend that faith is simple. Instead, I lean in and listen for God’s voice in the midst of uncertainty, trusting that doubt can be a doorway to deeper faith rather than a dead end.
If you find yourself unsure, curious, skeptical, or searching, you are not alone. God meets us not only in our confidence, but also in our questions. And sometimes, faith begins not with answers, but with the courage to ask.
Blessings,
Pastor Martha
