Stewardship Season: Making an Annual Pledge

1 Kings 11 notes, "In the spring of the year, the time when kings go out to battle..." as though springtime and wartime were one and the same. In the church we might rewrite the line to say, "In the fall of the year, when churches launch stewardship campaigns..."
Stewards of old managed domestic and financial concerns for estates. Today, the church uses "stewardship" for the process of managing your household assets and those given to the church.  More so than any year in memory, 2021 is a planning challenge for stewardship. However, whether we soon return to "normal" activities or a new normal is created, Parkway still needs your help. Your sharing of your time, talent and treasure enables us to fulfill our ministry and mission. In this environment of uncertainty, our appeal to you is simple: Can you continue your 2020 pledge for 2021?
Please watch your mail for an appeal letter and pledge card. Either return the pledge card, fill out the pledge form on, or complete your pledge in Realm.
Thank you in advance for your dedicated stewardship to Parkway.

Thanksgiving is Coming Soon!
We are aiming to provide 25 "baskets" via $30 gift cards to HEB, and the turkeys, which run about $20 each. Your donations for the Thanksgiving Basket Project are  welcomed. Our goal is $1250 and we have raised $450 so far.  You can donate to the food basket ministry by sending a check to the church office,
click here or through the "Give" tab on the church website, and find the FoodBaskets fund and fill  in the details to complete your gift.

Donations will be used to purchase HEB gift cards and turkeys for families through the Purple Door.
Help Out Tree 4 Hope-Run a Virtual 5K
This is a difficult time for everyone, all over the world. This is especially true for the children and families that Tree 4 Hope serves in Guatemala. CoVID-19 is a major threat to their close, tight-knit communities and they need us now more than ever.
It is surely no surprise to you that we had to close our school, Hope Academy, for the academic year. After many years of planning and fundraising, we just opened its doors in January 2020, so to say this was heartbreaking is an understatement. We have a dedicated staff and amazing teachers, though, who are continuously working to provide "virtual" learning to the students. These students do not have access to the internet, and some don't even have electricity. We have been sending home paper packets of work for them to complete, however it is a complicated scenario. When we send these packets home with the families, we are also providing them with food. So while the school's doors are physically closed, we are still providing a lot of help to the families in the area. All of this, of course, costs money.
While we at T4H have made the difficult decision to not hold any of our large events because of the pandemic, we simply cannot do nothing. Too many people depend on us for food, clothing, medicine and education which is why we have decided to hold a virtual 5K.
You can participate in this event no matter where you are. You can run, walk, or hike on roads, trails or even on a treadmill! You have all Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday to get the miles in, so you can pop the turkey in the oven and get it done, or wait until after you've slept off all of the turkey-induced sleepiness. Just register online, print your race bib, download our race-day playlist, run the race, upload your results and print your finisher certificate! It's that easy! We have awesome shirts available for purchase, as well as some other T4H branded items.
