Greetings!

A Tale of Two Mary Jo’s

One Mary Jo is a Sister of Mercy, the other Mary Jo works with the Sisters of Mercy.

One Mary Jo founded the House of Prayer, the other Mary Jo directs the House of Prayer.

But both Mary Jo’s strongly believe in the House of Prayer and the word: CONTINUITY.

The House of Prayer continues to offer great programs and engaging speakers. We continue to welcome adults of all faiths to encounter the God of mercy. And without hesitation, we continue to be extremely grateful to our dedicated volunteers, and generous sponsors. 

Our spirit of “CONTINUITY” brings us right to our programs starting tonight with Sr. Antonia Cooper, OSF leading us in a continuing four-week Monday night T’ai Chi Chih© series. Tomorrow, we offer Sacred Time Sacred Space, and on the 17^th we offer both Stitchers of Hope and our free Virtual Prayer for Peace. On the 18^th we have our weekly Holy Hour, and on the 23^rd is Man-to-Man. In October we begin an exciting new series entitled The Critical Concerns as Beacons of Hope in this Jubilee Year.

And we look forward to welcoming our Major Speaker Eric Clayton on October 22^nd who will reflect on Star Wars, hope, and our pilgrim journey of faith.

Mission Statement

The mission of Mount Saint Mary House of Prayer, rooted in the Gospel and the charism of the Sisters of Mercy, is to provide a sacred space, prayer experiences, and spirituality programs that help adults of any faith to encounter the God of mercy and share that mercy with others.  The mission moves beyond the House of Prayer to any place where we share our ministry.

Mount Saint Mary House of Prayer is a not-for-profit retreat center supported by free-will offerings. Those who cannot afford the suggested fees are urged to come and give what is possible. Those who can give more are encouraged to do so, since the fee stated for programs does not meet all our expenses. We gladly accept donations for scholarships. Thank you!
