ASTROLOGY FORECAST
(July 16 - 23)
This week begins with the MARS/URANUS close conjunction in full effect. The events that can arise can often be volatile, sudden, and lacking in good judgment. We did have a rather sudden, shocking event under this aspect. The results of the turmoil in the United States remains to be seen. We don't know what the collective reaction will be. The one thing we can all do is stay as centered and peaceful as possible during these months of testing. The shadow period of this conjunction will last for a few more weeks.
Additional thoughts on URANUS in the 3rd decanate in Taurus. This is where URANUS will be until it moves into Gemini in July 2025. Each sign is divided into thirds and has specific energies associated with that segment. The 3rd decanate usually refines the qualities of the planet in each sign. In the case of potentially volatile URANUS this can be especially helpful. The keyword is determination. The planets assisting are VENUS and SATURN, the former rules Taurus and the latter is the subruler. This will lend discipline to the good luck and grace of VENUS, which will help to bring about positive change, sudden though it may be, due to URANUS’ revolutionary style.
The associated constellation is PERSEUS. This purer than most mythological hero is known for slaying the Gorgon Medusa, saving Andromeda, and helping defeat the Titans. There is a triumph from tragedy aspect to the Medusa tale. Medusa was once very beautiful, but was cursed by jealousy. When slain by Perseus the universally admired winged horse, PEGASUS, was created. Something beautiful was reborn! That can be our path as well. As we move further into the photon belt in a different part of space than we have ever been before, we are on target to create something rare and precious from our time spent in 3D density. The remaining year that URANUS is in Taurus can create changes for the better if we allow it to be our destiny.
MARS moves into Gemini, away from URANUS and toward JUPITER, on 7/20 until 9/4. MARS can be verbally aggressive and somewhat critical in Gemini. Becoming too pushy is possible. Those are the cautions. The positive angle is using the power of MARS to help move the self and the collective along with ideas and action. The elements are fire and air. Gemini deals with many people and groups. This summer will likely be full of exchanges of ideas and opinions. The best we can do is try to make sure the interactions are helpful.
There is also another option here that you may find helpful. With all the opinions and disagreement present, there may be some times where you can choose to opt out. By that I mean, can you decide that on any particular issue/battle you don't have to have an opinion? Make no mistake, some issues are critical, but others are just noise and aren't that important to you. I can say from personal experience that sometimes that choice will bring about tremendous peace!
The FULL MOON is on 7/21 at the culminating 29th degree of Capricorn at 6:17 am EST. This is the second consecutive FULL MOON in Capricorn. This one has equal positive and potentially challenging aspects formed between all the planets in the solar system. It can be thought of as a second chance to get your ducks in a row in anticipation of your next endeavors. Capricorn is structured, steady, and disciplined. Use this to help organize your ideas and actions. The 29th degree is the culminating energy of Capricorn, which will help you quite a bit.
The next 4 full moons are SUPERMOONS, where creativity will be greatly enhanced, so any final preparations in the next month around this Capricorn moon will give you a head start on a great interval for initiation this summer and autumn.
The SUN moves into Leo on 7/22. The SUN rules Leo, which makes this a powerful transit each year. It is about leadership, nobility, and power. It is pure, creative fire. If positive ideas and actions are employed then great things can result from this transit. The caution is, of course, poor leadership, obsession, and going down distracting rabbit holes.
There will be a few assists to this year's Leo Sun. As it moves through Leo it will be approaching a trine to NEPTUNE at 29 ° Pisces, which is Pisces ruling planet. NEPTUNE is also exalted in Leo. You have what is called mutual reception energies active. So visionary, dreamy emotions and ideas will be enhanced as we move fully into the age of Aquarius.
MERCURY will be helpful as well. It will be next door in Virgo, a sign where it both rules that sign, and is exalted in Virgo. Mercury in Virgo will help with the nuts and bolts of implementing the actions you wish to take under the Leo Sun.
Analysis of the transits I have discussed this week reveal a period of potentially aggressive activity. I caution all of us to employ those things that calm us and help us stay centered and grounded. Weave in as much of the Divine Feminine as you are able. May you find peace as your companion through these days.
ASTROLOGY FORECAST
(July 24 - 31)
MERCURY moves into Virgo on 7/25 until 8/13. MERCURY is in its happy place in Virgo. It both rules the sign and is exalted in it.
Virgo is a mutable earth sign. It is excellent in detail and thoroughness. Organization to the Nth degree is a Virgo hallmark. MERCURY is a mental, versatile energy that lends great acuity to the picture. Mercury can work well with the mutable aspect of Virgo. Changes are not appreciated, but can be implemented while this fastest moving planet is in residence.
Centaur asteroid CHIRON begins retrograde motion in Aries on 7/26. This will remain until the end of this calendar year. CHIRON has been particularly important to us this year. We are all “scrubbing the dross” from our karmic creations, ancestral lines, and present life experiences. We are sifting, rearranging, ultimately deciding what is complete versus what needs a closer or different look. This is the purview of both planetary retrogrades and planetary returns. We get another chance to review, evaluate, rethink, recreate, etc.
It can be frustrating to think you have dealt adequately with an issue, only to have it return again. This can be your soul whispering to you that there's more to be gleaned from the experience. A change in approach, mental and/or emotional charge can give you a completely different experience from the same input. That is the gift of retrogrades and returns. Keep in mind that they are not circular, but spiral in nature. The idea being that each time around is an opportunity to create from a higher octave to improve the experience.
CHIRON is the “wounded healer.” We are dealing with wounds from this lifetime and every other for both ourselves and our ancestors. It is an intense time. CHIRON in mythology was thought to be unable to heal himself. In our charts it is representing a wound that is long standing, perhaps one that has visited us for many lifetimes. In our current life it can be a very vivid hurt that is intense. But we are in unique times and places in space. That, and our collective efforts have changed the game. We can heal. We can move on to a higher octave experience. We have CHIRON to assist us.
During this long retrograde you may have many things come up for review. Some will be familiar, some fleeting flashes of pseudo-memory. In each case ask if it is complete and may be released back to love, or is there more for you to address consciously. Take it slow and know that you have more assistance than ever before. We are into what can be termed a retrograde season now. CHIRON, CERES, NEPTUNE, SATURN, and PLUTO are all in retrograde motion. This gives you a wide variety of energies to create anew.
As stated in the first column for July, this month was packed full of significant astrological features. This is a good place to talk about astrology's role in your life once again. I encourage you to utilize the energy and assistance available. However, I also urge you to not be constrained by it either. It is a tool that you are free to work with as you see fit. It does not rule you, even though we use terms like “ruling planet.”
Challenging placements will be found in everyone's chart, as well as fortunate energies. The one thing you will not hear from me is that anyone has a planet in fall, or debilitated, in detriment, etc. I don't believe that approach is at all helpful. A perfect example of this is the current position behind the Sun that both Venus, and the fixed star Sirius are in. Lore says they are dark, and in the underworld. It was supposed to trigger dark times. I don't see it that way. I see them, as I said before, as being on a scouting or recognizance mission to bring us all of the best, most suitable energies from deep space and the void available to us right now upon their return. I find that to be much more hopeful and helpful to frame it in this way. I invite you to do the same.
I will close with a reminder to watch for VENUS’ return as our Evening Star any time now. She will shine brightly on our western horizon at dusk.. She will bring us her wisest expression with all new information to use. The same is true for Sirius’ return early next month on the Lion's Gate. This year's return will be especially powerful with the numerology of 8, or the Infinity symbol. Unity and flow will be enhanced.
