Hello everyone.
We hope you and your families are well. After close to 6 months, we finally received the news we have been waiting for! We are permitted to reopen our indoor gym starting 9/1 at 6am. We all must follow the safety protocols outlined by the Governor’s office. They are very simple:
- Temperature must be taken upon entering the building
- You must sign a safety protocol sheet acknowledging you will follow the safety protocols
- Face masks are to be worn at all times inside the building
- You must spray and clean everything you touch
- Adhere to social distancing
- Our towel rule is still in affect
At this time, the New Jersey Department of Health will not allow the use of saunas or showers.
At this time, we will not be doing laundry. You must bring your own towel or purchase one at the front desk.
All gyms are limited to 25% of maximum occupancy. Since we are not a budget/mass gym, we are not a volume gym. We ran our pre-covid check-in reports. We are in great shape! We do not foresee issues, but we need help from all of you. On a per hour check-in basis, we more than comply with occupancy requirements. The potential issue is if members are in the gym for long periods of time. We really need you to do your exercise and move on to the next. PLEASE do not spend time on your phones or socializing. If our front desk sees capacity is being reached, we will have to walk the gym floor and police those that are in the building but not working out. Gang, we’ve waited 6 months to work out inside. You can go on your phones outside the gym :). If we find occupancy limits are being reached, we will then put time limits on workouts. It would also be wise to try to avoid the most popular times if at all possible. Pre-Covid, the busiest check-in times were between 5pm-6:30pm. Currently our Outdoor Gym receives its busiest volume between 4pm-6pm.
Let’s talk about our Outdoor Gym. The Outdoor Gym will remain open! This is for many reasons:
- If you arrive at the gym and the indoor gym happens to be at capacity, you can start your lift in the Outdoor Gym and we will call you over the loud system when you can come inside
- Many members prefer to train outdoors. Wearing a mask is optional only during the exercise when performed outside.
- Why not keep it open? We have 5 squat racks, 6 Olympic benches and tons of machines. More than many other gyms have inside :)
We notified everyone on March 16th that their membership would be frozen until we were permitted to reopen. That original message can still be seen by clicking here. We will be unfreezing your memberships next week when we reopen. Upon your first visit back, you need to allow a few minutes to sign the safety protocol sheet and maintenance fee agreement if you have not already. We encourage you to come to the gym before 9/1 to do your required paper work to beat the rush! If for any reason you do not want your membership unfrozen, you can continue to freeze your membership by filling out a freeze from located here.
The only memberships we will not be unfreezing at this time are our class memberships. Due to the restrictions the Governor has put on class attendance, we need a little more time to come up with a fair way for our class members to participate in classes. For the time being, we will continue to do our classes in the parking lot on a pay per class basis. We will contact all of our class member with updates. If our class members would like to start using the Indoor Gym and/or Outdoor Gym, we can unfreeze you at our normal gym rate.
We are looking forward to seeing all of you! Please allow enough time to do your paperwork (try to come in before 9/1), and please remember to follow all the safety protocols.
