Registration is now open for the 32nd Annual National Institute for Leadership Advancement (NILA). NILA 2018 will be held August 8-12 in Oklahoma City, OK. NILA is SHPE's premier leadership training program for the 2018-2019 chapter executive board members, offering invaluable leadership, chapter, and personal development with culmination as a Certified Chapter Leader. Register by June 15!

Congratulations to SHPE leader and former National Undergraduate Representative
Emily Anne Vargas
for her recent award of the very prestigious Graduate Research Fellowship from the National Science Foundation. The Miami native will pursue her doctoral degree in material science and engineering at the University of Southern California.

SHPE works closely with its IPC members and additional sponsors to offer scholarships to members every year.
For the 2017-2018 academic year, SHPE provided approximately $250,000 in scholarships to 155 students.

June 30th

Now is the time to submit nominations for the STAR Awards, recognizing those in STEM who are changing lives through their community outreach, work, and research.
The winners will be announced in July and celebrated in November during the SHPE National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio.
Nominations are due July 10th.

Your SHPE membership expires at the end of this month.
