First off, I want to offer my sincerest and most heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended and helped organize our NILA Leadership Conference last month. Over five days of workshops, talks, and seminars, we planted a proud and towering flag for SHPE’s future, inspiring hundreds of SHPE members from throughout the country to embrace their “inner leader” and propel our growing organization forward.

It was an honor to be there with you, to hear your stories and ideas, and I have little doubt that next year’s conference will see that flag raised even higher.

There were 282 people in attendance at the event in Oklahoma City, OK. We had 100% graduation rate with 177 chapter leaders receiving their Chapter Leader Program Certificate. Congratulations to all of the graduates!

HISPANIC-HERITAGE MONTH
In honor of Hispanic-Heritage month, we're highlighting 12 Hispanic individuals for the contributions they have made to STEM.
We chose just twelve, but we know there are many more. Join us on social media from September 15 through October 15 to call-out those that are important to you and to help us spread the word about the importance of Hispanics in STEM.

It is perfectly acceptable to ask the recruiter or hiring manager about the type of interview you can expect and who will be conducting it. No matter what type of interview you may encounter in your job search, this webinar will help you be prepared.

 The art of negotiation can be a complicated process. One way or another we’re always negotiating personally and professionally. The key is to have a win-win attitude when you are considering a negotiation. Understanding what all parties need, and working towards that is critical to a positive outcome. Hear from experts in the field about effective strategies to support a successful interview with well-informed questions that point out how your skills and abilities make you a good fit for the position. Participants will take away tools to master the art of negotiation to cultivate a long-term relationship.
