GeoAg Workshop offered for residents of District 5
Participants who take part in the GeoAg Workshop offered for District 5 residents can learn how to grow plants in river rock without soil and fertilizer. The GeoAg pilot program will allow residents to easily grow micro greens, sprouts, beans, peas, as well as other food items in the fall and winter months.

Board Of Commissioners Regular Meeting
The Fulton County Board of Commissioners will hold their regular meeting o n Wednesday, August 1, 2018. The meeting will include a public hearing on the General Fund millage rate. After the hearing, the final millage rate will be set for the General Fund, the Bond Fund and the Fulton Industrial District Fund. The meeting will take place at 10 a.m. at the Fulton County Government Center's Assembly Hall.
Commissioner Hall Partners with The Basketball Tournament (TBT) for ‘Day of Giving’
Fulton County Commissioner Natalie Hall, District 4, partnered with the Fifth Annual The Basketball Tournament (TBT) for a ‘Day of Giving’ at the City of Atlanta’s Anderson Park Recreation Center.
 
Commissioner Hall participated in activities including a court dedication, computer donations, and a clean-up of the Anderson Park Recreation Center.
The recreation center also received a new electronic scoreboard, six new baskets, new shot clock, and improved lighting.
Restorative Justice Expungement Summit
The Office of the Fulton County Solicitor General Keith Gammage will hold a Restorative Justice Expungement Summit for Jobs and Education. Those who register and qualify can possibly have their criminal record restricted if they meet certain requirements. Registration is required.

Library Renovation Closing Dates
AFPLS
The Atlanta-Fulton Public Library System is preparing for all 7 libraries included in Group 1 of the renovation project to be closed temporarily for renovations. Closing dates will occur in August 2018, as follows:

August 8 closing: Sandy Springs, Kirkwood, Southwest and Washington Park Libraries.

August 21 closing: Roswell, Dogwood and West End Libraries.

Exterior work to all libraries in Group 1 will continue to take place in the weeks before closing. Exterior work includes roof repairs, pressure washing, gutters, exterior painting, brick repair, tree removal and fencing.

Fulton Executive Assistant District Attorney Named
Top Georgia Prosecutor
Fulton County Executive Assistant District Attorney Clinton Rucker is named the 2018 Assistant District Attorney of the Year. The prestigious honor was given by the State of Georgia Prosecuting Attorney’s Council. Rucker was nominated by Fulton County District Attorney Paul L. Howard, Jr. The over 20-year veteran ADA has prosecuted over 150 cases with a 98% conviction rate.
