Satisfaction

"We don't ask for much, do we? Only everything," observes local poet, playwright, and teacher Alan Haehnel. In this video meditation, he says "Nature's scripture in symbol more profound than what is written testifies to my sufficience. Bless my blood to absorb this mission—to journey standing still, to know I have my fill, to dream I am, to dream I am thy will."

Decision Time

"What's happening in Gaza and the level of civilian casualties is not only unnecessary, because there is a different way of doing this, but is untenable morally and is undermining the national security interests of Israel and the U.S. We have to have a very different approach to it." So said Rep. Jason Crow (D-Colorado) at a Dartmouth Dickey Center event last week. The topic was "How American Choices in the Middle East Affect Its Global Leadership."

Hip Hop meets New Age

Philadelphia rapper Kuf Knotz and harpist/vocalist Christine Elise recently graced Lebanon's Anonymous Coffeehouse. Chad Finer was there to capture their buoyant, dreamy set. "Today we plant the seeds for the life we long to live," said Knotz. "We remain open and willing to flow with life's changes....So we take time to just breathe." Their national tour brings them back to New England in August.
