A Message from the County Executive

Dear Friends,

Summer is finally here! I hope everyone has been able to enjoy the warmer weather while staying cool during the recent heat wave.

This past month I had the pleasure of joining our Library Team for their 'Check It Out' podcast on WCNY where we discussed the importance of libraries and all they have to offer our community. Our team in the Planning Department was joined by many of our partners in agriculture to announce the 2025 annual ON Farm Fest line up at the CNY Regional Market. This popular, family-friendly event will be better than ever! Learn more about 2025 ON Farm Fest at onondagagrown.com.

Earlier this month, our County Team participated in the 2025 Syracuse Workforce Run and won the largest team award for the second year in a row! Team Onondaga County had a total of 344 race entrants which is over 100 more participants than the previous year. I am so proud of our team and want to say thank you to our Parks and Personnel Departments for working together to make this event such a success!

I also had the honor of attending the annual 911 Award Ceremony where we recognized employees outstanding performance during the past year. Thank you to our 911/Emergency Communications Team for all you do to keep our home safe!

Last, but certainly not least, just a few days ago the Onondaga County Industrial Development Agency Board adopted the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) marking a monumental step forward for the historic investment being made by Micron. This represents another step forward as Central New York establishes itself as the hub for semiconductor memory technology manufacturing in the world!

Below you will find additional updates and announcements made over the last month. As always, it is an honor to serve as your County Executive and if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact my office.

Sincerely,

Ryan
