A Message from the County Executive

Dear Neighbor,

The new year is right around the corner and we've had a busy month to close out 2024!

The month kicked off with the CNY Regional Market Public Meeting where I had the pleasure of speaking with community members and listen to valuable feedback about the future of the market. I also had the honor of attending SEMICON Japan with our team in Economic Development where I presented and met with the Japan External Trade Organization's leadership to discuss business opportunities for Japanese companies interested in expanding in our community.

Another exciting announcement this month was the historic deal signing by Micron Technology and the United States Department of Commerce which provides $6.1 billion in grants for Micron to build a Mega Fab plant in Clay. This locks in Micron to begin construction of the first two plants in its planned $100 billion complex and further proves the undeniable progress and momentum occurring in Onondaga County!

Below you will find additional updates on all the exciting events and announcements made over the last month. As always, it is an honor to serve as your County Executive and if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact my office.

Wishing everyone a happy holidays and a happy new year!

Sincerely,

Ryan
