One Bistro will be offering a box meal and water in front of the café from 5:00-8:00 PM at a suggested price of $6. The box meal includes a ham or turkey sandwich, carrots, ranch dip, applesauce, potato chips, Rice Krispies treat and water. Make sure to grab one before you head over to Shawnee Park for the fireworks!

HOW During National Everybody Eats Week, One Bistro is offering a few special ways to get involved, combat food insecurity and support One Bistro in its mission to feed people. Please consider joining us by being a Food Security Champion ($1000/+ donation), a Pay-It-Forward Match ($350/+ donation) a Friend of One Bistro ($100/+ donation).

If you have ever dined with us, you may have noticed our community "Pray It Forward" wall. This is a place where you can leave a prayer request, or take one that you would like to lift up. It is our staff & board of directors' honor and privilege to pray for our neighbors. How can we pray for you? Email us at [email protected].

The youth group from Olivet Baptist Church in Paducah, KY has been attending Generate Camp by Youth Ministry 360 for several years. This year their camp base is at Cedarville University. Generate Camp offers different options for how the kids will spend their time during the week. One of the options is to SERVE the community, doing a ministry project with a community partner. One Bistro was so blessed to be chosen as their place of service this summer!

When Quent Smith, the youth group's leader found out that they would be spending the week serving at a Community Café, he was so thrilled! He and the other leaders surprised the kids by having them sit down to a special dinner and serving them a meal, helping to prepare them for their week of service. "We are so excited," Quent said, "to get to see our kids interact with all kinds of people this week."

This past week, One Bistro has been filled with the energy and excitement of these wonderful kids. They did a fantastic job of serving, caring for and loving on our neighbors!

We are so thankful for the amazing interns God often brings our way! Blake Ebert is a special blessing to the bistro this summer as he completes an 80 hour internship with us. Blake is going into his senior year at the Dayton Regional Stem School. He thinks he may study cyber security in college, however, he recognizes the benefits of having a basic knowledge of culinary arts as he prepares for adulthood. He is also thankful for the experience and development of his communication skills as he works with the One Bistro team and customers. Blake values One Bistro as a community café. "It is so beneficial for the community," he says, "especially the weekly Community Meal. It is really helping those in need." We hope you will stop in and say hello to Blake!

Check out some of the smiling faces who graced the bistro in June.

Billy was homeless and on drugs when he first started coming to One Bistro. He came for the hot meal, but the staff and volunteers welcomed him and most importantly, they shared the love of God with him. Suddenly, he knew his life had purpose and meaning. He gained tools and skills while volunteering at One Bistro that have allowed him to get a job and a home. He now reaches out to help others who are on the streets. "There is such a huge need," Billy says, "but what people really need is God. God will provide."

We have been listening to your feedback and we've updated our summer menu! We've added some new items and brought back some all time favorites. Yep, we have omelets again for Saturday brunch as well as our amazing blueberry pancakes with lemon cream sauce. We look forward to serving you soon!
