Kyle & Mallory Thompson
Kyle and Mallory first heard about One Bistro in 2014 and immediately wanted to get involved. They loved the food and the mission! They started out sponsoring and volunteering for Community Meal with their house church, but in 2018 they decided to also sponsor a table in the bistro each month. They love the focus on the local community where they live, that the bistro is helping their town! They can see the impact their dollars are making each day as people are fed and drawn into community. "If you want to get involved in One Bistro, but don't quite know how, sponsoring a table is a great way to get involved," says Kyle. "If we want it to stick around in our community, we need to give it some support."
Dr. Jeff Lewis
Dr. Lewis has been a Table Sponsor from the beginning! He first heard about One Bistro through Diane Dixon and Denise Davis at the Rotary Club. When One Bistro first came to Xenia and connected with Toward Independence, he thought it was a great match. "To me, One Bistro is a perfect community center," says Dr. Lewis, "Where the community takes care of those in need, and those taken care of can reciprocate with volunteer work." Also, "having a marvelous chef like Chef Greg adds to the overall experiences; delicious meals, a very fair cost and a chance to serve Xenia and its constituents!"
Phil & Pam Black Family Foundation
Phil and Pam also connected with One Bistro at its roots. They heard about its mission from One Bistro's founder, Robert. When they started looking to open a new location, Phil lobbied for Greene County and was part of the team that walked and prayed through Xenia, looking for a new location.
Phil's heart is always touched by vulnerable people and he saw great value in One Bistro's ability to lift people up instead of just giving a handout. As a person works for their food, they are given dignity, but through the development community it goes another step further. Through One Bistro, Phil has an opportunity to share about the love of God, to tell people that they have value and purpose and to give them the chance for a relationship with Jesus, which is the only way to really change their lives.
Phil and Pam sponsor a table each month because this builds a foundation of support for One Bistro that allows it to stay strong and continue reaching more of the community with the love of Christ.
