January 2020  Edition

Dear Beloved,

We are really pleased to be in touch with you this month. January is a month that a lot of people find challenging. What with school fees, house rents and other bills to pay, after all the expenses of December.

We are however glad that Our Heavenly Father has brought you through and you are standing strong.

We are excited that preparations for our Kingdom Expansion Conferences holding in Lagos (June 5-6); Abuja (June 8-9); and Kaduna (June 11-12) are in full swing. If you have attended one or more conferences and would like to help with getting the announcement out there, on social media, or any other way, please get in touch with us.

We are bringing the conference right to the doorsteps of our friends on the mainland this time. The Lagos venue is Haven Event Centre, GRA, Ikeja.

Nothing excites us more than when we see lives transformed at our conferences or programmes as people encounter the love of Jesus, and then go unto transforming many other lives.

We also have our usual feature, "In His Presence", and several others. Do enjoy.

"Our Relationships"

There's the word called 'Relationship' that the Lord has been highlighting to me. It's a word that Father God seems to take very seriously, and I wonder if we know just how important it is to Him.

There are many different types of relationships. Relationship can refer to family relations and relatives. It could be friendships, acquaintances or romantic relationships. Some of these relationship types can overlap. The main difference between family relations and friendships is that with family, you don't usually get to choose who they are, we often get thrust into a family. With friendships, you decide or choose who you want to be friends with. The romantic relationship sometimes leads to marriage depending on the intensity of love between the couples. With acquaintances, these may be a neighbour or people you run into once in a while.

Whatever the relationship, for it to thrive, Father God desires that we focus on our relationship with Him because not only is this what sustains all our other relationships, it also impacts it. When we surrender our hearts for Him to soften them towards one another. He provides the level of trust, honour, honesty, communication, respect, loyalty that each relationship needs.

We ought to come to a place where we are immensely grateful that Jesus went to the Cross for us so we could receive healing from diseases and forgiveness from our sin (Isaiah 53:3-5). Having gotten a revelation of the depth of love that facilitated this (Ephesians 1:18-23), we begin to understand that He bore everything for us, so there shouldn't be anything too difficult for us to do for Him. This should include forgiveness of anyone who has wronged us.

The ability to forgive is God-given. Sometimes it is so painful we need to ask for more help from the Holy Spirit. Forgiveness is neither an admission of guilt nor is it a relinquishing to another person being right. Forgiveness releases us from holding onto or being in bondage with the person, and releases them and the situation to God.
We also need to ask the Lord how he wants us positioned for that love to flow through us and out into the world. The way this love flows out is in our relationships with others. If we have received His love, then we can share this love with others. It's difficult to give out what you have not received. It's difficult to receive when there is no relationship.

With our different personalities and our experiences growing up, our relationship with the Godhead is not always as close as it should be. We often suffer from wounds and lies that we have believed over the years, that distorts these relationships. Also our ability to imbibe the Fruit of the Spirit helps us cope in relationships and allows us forgive easily.

Our relationships will take on a new meaning if we are diligent to love ourselves and also love others from a Godly source. This was what Jesus modelled for us. He had so many relationships and extended unconditional love to them all. He was not judgemental and His relationships changed people for the better, like with Simon Peter. He forgave Peter though Peter denied Him, and Jesus restored their relationship. Another example is the 'Woman by the well' who was transformed by meeting with Jesus and became a great evangelist.

Jesus created us so that, like Him, our encounters with people would transform their lives. But in our relationships, it is also important that we understand that we can only be responsible for ourselves, for our part. Our giving love by forgiving when we feel wronged should really not be about the other person's attitude and response. We need to learn to rise above circumstances so our relationships thrive. We need to avoid opening the doors of our lives to offence, distrust, bitterness and other negatively impacting things. Jesus always interacted in such a way that relationships thrived in His Hands.

Maybe today you need to ask God to take hold of some relationships in your life and help you steward them. I would suggest that we ask Father God, which relationships He wants us to deal with. We can ask Him to help us forgive and surrender our hearts to Him to heal.

Testimonies... Lives Transformed...
In this edition, we have a write up from our Abuja Conference Coordinator, Pastor John Yusuf who has attended the Kingdom Conferences since 2017.

My life transformation experiences did not just start with the conferences, but with the conveners of the conferences. Sometime in January 2017, I encountered this wonderful couple, Mr. Femi Bajomo and Dr. Mina Bajomo, who invited me to the first planning meeting of the Abuja Kingdom Conference on the recommendation of a missionary friend, Bro Segun Odekunle, serving with Calvary Ministries (CAPRO).

When I got a message inviting me to a meeting at the Abuja Transcorp hotel, I went but was sceptical owing to the fact that many had come like that in the past with bogus names and talk without a commensurate life transforming impact. At the meeting, the first thing I noticed when Mr. Femi Bajomo and Dr. Mina Bajomo were addressing us on the upcoming conference was a life totally offered and yielded to God for service. I saw grace and a spirit-filled life in them and instantaneously my spirit agreed that they were from God and since then, I became their secret follower.

In CAPRO we trust God for His provision for His Kingdom's work, However, it was amazing the way the huge budgets of the Lapis Lazuli conferences were being handled with simple, but faith-filled prayers. The calmness that followed has transformed my life all the more in the area of trusting God for provision.

Femi and Mina's simplicity and accessibility in ministry as well as practical love of the Father as demonstrated to people of all strata has been amazing. They have demonstrated in many ways that ministry should not been owned. Because of that, despite the great things God is doing through the vision God gave to them, I see in them a humble spirit. It's a lesson God is using to transform me.

Another area in which my contact with Lapis Lazuli Ministries has transformed my life pertains their relationship with one another. As a married man, I have noticed that the kind of love, respect, harmony, and agreement that exists between Femi and Mina is worthy of emulation. It has been amazing over the past three years of my coming in contact with them. I remembered telling them last year when Mina marked her birthday in Abuja that they have been a great example of a Christian couple to me and many others who have come close to them.

The Kingdom conferences have been immense blessings and refreshing to me with God coming uniquely in each of them. The three conferences witnessed in Abuja have not only opened my eyes to the love of the Father, but have brought me personal revival.

During the first Abuja conference held in 2017, the Abuja Kingdom Conference, God invisibly came to work upon my heart. He melted it and planted the Father's love in my strong heart and I sobbed like a baby all through the conference.

The conference helped me understand that what I have with God is a Father-son relationship. That taught me how to enjoy the love of the Father, coming to Him not beggarly, but boldly enjoying His loving presence. The impartations at every conference have greatly transformed and enhanced my personal ministry. Ministry is no longer a burden, but made easy by the presence of the Holy Spirit. Praying for the sick and oppressed is now a delight to me having been taught the principle.

In all I give God the glory.

May the Lord continue to uphold and preserve us all.

God's blessings,

Femi and Mina Bajomo
