Ariz. Units Assist Red Cross As Blood Donation Sites
Two Arizona Wing squadrons in the Phoenix area are stepping up to assist the American Red Cross by providing their buildings as temporary blood donation sites beginning this week in response to the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.

The Red Cross approached the wing for help when schools, churches and other donation venues shut down.

“Supporting the Red Cross is an ongoing mission for Civil Air Patrol,” said Lt. Col. Bob Ditch. “Over the past three years, CAP members, along with their families and friends, have hosted the donation of more than 500 units of blood through CAP’s Operation Pulse Lift.”

Donation drives are set for Wednesday at the 388th Composite Squadron’s facility at Glendale Municipal Airport and April 25 at the Falcon Composite Squadron’s building at Mesa’s Falcon Field Airport.
Ready to Serve, Idaho Unit Assures Community
The Idaho Wing's Boise Composite Squadron is using social media to promote awareness of the unit’s readiness to assist with community emergency services needs during the COVID-19 outbreak and stay-at-home orders.

Launched March 30, the "Ready. Set. Go." campaign is scheduled to run for four weeks on the squadron’s three official social media channels: Facebook Twitter  and  Instagram . New posts appear on Mondays.

Along with squadron-provided photos, members have been called on to participate by submitting their own photos showing them in uniform, displaying their readiness.
