New Guidelines Stress
'Character and Leadership'
for Senior Members
Recently released CAP Pamphlet 80-3, “Character and Leadership,” is designed to be a training and teaching resource for senior members.

It was created to help “engage senior members in a meaningful learning experience through the use of case studies to apply the core values of Civil Air Patrol to both their personal and professional lives,” the introduction reads.

At the request of National Commander Maj. Gen. Mark Smith, CAP's Southwest Region Commander Col. Joe Smith led the working group that developed the pamphlet. The goal was to help members handle varied situations with a consistently high level of ethical behavior, Col. Smith said.
Conn. Wing Brings STEM to Middle Schools
The Connecticut Wing stepped up to provide STEM instruction for middle school students in a pair of public schools, thanks to an agreement with the Connecticut Military Department. The state’s adjutant general called on Col. James A. Ridley Sr., Connecticut Wing commander, for assistance in implementing the Military Department’s involvement with the U.S. Department of Defense’s STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) program known as STARBASE.
