Happy Fourth of July!

On Sunday, July 6, we welcome back

Steph Martin as part of our Centennial Guest Preacher Series. She came to work at Northmont as the Associate for Spiritual Formation in 2017 and was ordained as an Associate Pastor in 2021. In 2022, she left Northmont and moved to Louisiana where she now works for KPro K9 as a Professional Certified Dog Trainer. We hope you can join us in welcoming her back!

Parking Lot Fundraising Campaign Status

As we continue to become accustomed to enjoying our beautiful new parking lot, we also turn our thoughts to finishing the job of paying for it. As of the end of June, you all have contributed a whopping $70,557 toward our goal, so we’re making good progress as the August 31st end date for our drive draws nearer! Also, of great interest to us all is our progress in meeting the anonymous donor challenge of raising another $10,000 in order to unlock that donor’s generous offer of a matching $10,000. Since that offer was made, an additional $5450 has been donated, so we’re more than halfway to releasing that matching gift!!  (See the blue portion of the Fundraising Thermometer.)

Our heartfelt thanks continue to go out to all who have contributed already, both to the original total goal and also to this new goal-within-a-goal. If you haven’t contributed already, or if you are considering an additional donation, we hope that you will please do so and help us reach both of these objectives with a donation marked for the Parking Lot!

New Wilmington Mission Conference

The New Wilmington Mission Conference (NWMC) is held every year at Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA. It is the longest-running Christian Mission-focused event in the United States (119 years and counting), typically attended by people from over 30 states and 20 countries.

This year's conference will be held July 18-23. While there are a number of conference events worth attending, your Mission Committee will be hosting an excursion to attend their Mission Fair, which will be held from 1:30-4:00pm on Sunday, July 20. In the past, the fair provided an opportunity to interact with Presbyterian missionaries, who are visiting from the mission field, and to learn about their experiences and how one might join them in supporting initiatives to improve the lives of those living in poverty in other countries. With the recent changes in the way that the PC (USA) supports global mission work, this year's Mission Fair should provide opportunities to better understand how these changes have impacted foreign service and how we might be able to adapt our approach to global mission support.

Summer Mission Week

August 11-14, from 9am-12pm each day, Northmont has been invited to be the lead volunteers at the North Hills Community Outreach garden in Bellevue. Youth and adults can come to the garden each morning to pitch in.
